  1. IMO, the exact opposite. It's the least versatile with the least options. I think the trigger retaining clip is a perfect analogy for the gun. Benelli used the same little D spring clip on most of their guns for ages. The M4 has the hog nose ring. Not because the D spring didn't work just fine, but because they wanted to make it hard to take apart. So people who shouldn't be taking them apart, aren't. And it makes perfect sense. But that doesn't make it a better pin retainer. Beefing up a gun so 19 year olds can't break it as easily, doesn't mean it's a better gun.
  2. Comparing Benelli to Benelli.... you're saying don't compare the M4 that does "A", to say an M1 or M2 that does "A, B & C". My thinking IS comparing apples to apples, is the M4 really better at A than the other two? Thus far, personally have no real reason to think that it is. (you can save the typing on what the government buys with our tax money, what they buy and why have little relevance to you and I. What the Marines buy has little bearing on my life.)
  3. Mostly for shooting doors, no?
  4. L&M You can get it on Amazon, Mounts Plus and other places. It doesn't rub. But I could if you wanted it to. lol I have a similar one on an M2 and it made different, where you need to remove the light to release the clamp on the tube. This one doesn't. I don't know if this is an updated version, or a different version. I keep meaning to send them an email with photos to get an answer. This one is much more handy to use.
  5. Mounting Solutions... When and if my tube ever comes, I don't know if I'm going to keep it or not. I hate lights on shotguns, even though I know their value and do use them lol.
  6. I just grabbed mine to take a crappy photo for another thread and I said what I always say, "damn this thing is heavy". lol That's one thing I always hear people say, how soft it shoots compared to the other Benelli's "because of the Argo system." I often wonder how much of that is really due to being a gas gun (though not a traditional one) and how much of it is weight? My M4 is close to two pounds heavier than a similarly outfitted M2 I have. I need to put two pounds of lead in the stock and shoot them side by side.
  7. For starters, like I mentioned above, do you have the 5 round factory setup or a 7 round tube? If 5 and you have the factory spring, it's longer than it needs to be. If you really want to work on the latch, there's spots you can polish the will help a little. Another old trick was to "crush the spring" which honestly I could never see what they was doing. It's a spring, it just springs back? lol Opening up the notches will certainly help, but you have to decided where you want to stop. For longevity and durability's sake, you don't want to go crazy like in that photo above. They're not all the same either, some need more or less than others. It also depends on what you plan to do with it. I have some with nothing done to them, some just a bit, some a lot. My M4 is below, just a bit easier to weak and load, but not even close to match gun easy.
  8. 98.5% of which are purchased by people who will not be using them in combat type things. Which is was kind of my point. lol And that's fine. I have no issues with anyone buying whatever they want, for what ever reason, or no reason at all. But the signal to noise ratio on the M4 is kind of high.
  9. Mine as well, but there are those convinced it's the bestest at everything! As well as some duffers who just use it because it's what they have, of course, which is fine. I haven't done much shouldered weak hand loading with the M4, I'm sure in a "serious" situation it would be fine. In a match, doing it repeatedly all day, I can see it dragging on you. The M4's a little fat girl. lol Loved loading and shooting at the same time, the game was more fun for me, before quad loading. As for blue... I like it. Makes me think of painting one. I've been kicking around either painting an M2 yellow, or doing some crazy hydro dip on it. But a denim blue would look nice.
  10. Have you fired 10k rounds from yours without cleaning it? lol I took it apart because I took it apart.
  11. Unless you're, you know, using it for 3 gun.
  12. It's also easier to unload from the mag than a stock or modified factory latch. Negative on the J Kenny is that it stands farther off the receiver than the factory latch (or any other company using them like GG&G)
  13. So far I think that's what I like the least? The M4 is a fat dirty pig. lol I couldn't believe how dirty mine was inside in only 75 rounds? (mostly buck and slug) I finally gave in and bought one this spring to get my own opinion on how much was steak, how much was sizzle. Separate the truth from the fanboy fappery if you will. lmao I'm sure I'll be chased from the forum with torches and pitchforks, but thus far I'm just not seeing it. It's a great gun, I guess, but not matching the price or the hype thus far.
  14. I ordered a J Kenny latch for my "race gun" (which wasn't easy for me to do, considering the beating I took on that turd of an auto load-two carrier), it finally came last week? And while I haven't shot it yet to see what function/malfunction is like, I have done some quad loading and it's nice. This is the one that came out of that gun. This one probably has less done to it that all the ones before it, it has very little contouring on the front. But once you start getting so dramatic in the changes, you have to view them as consumables. Most of my Benelli's have some degree of that done to them, though most of them much less. As for loading the M4... IIRC the 5 round guns are still running the 7 round spring, so it's longer than need be. That's not helping. (I'm pretty sure I cut mine down right away (still waiting on my 7 round tube))
  15. Like plumb Ruger's and HKs.
  16. Cerakote polymer-ceramic coating (like really expensive paint lol). CLP is a lubricant. So I'm confused. Did you mean DLC? PVD?
  17. All it's doing is bumping the carrier enough to unlock the bolt. The recoil/expanding gas are doing the rest. So for most of it's operation/cycling, the inertia guns and the Argo system aren't very different, just in what gets the bolt unlocked.
  18. I have an as new IWC mount to sell, but the two times I went to list it, other people had just posted one. Now I'm not 100% sure where it is. lmao
  19. There's an ass for every seat. I'd love to have one of my Benelli's that color. lol
  20. I thought you couldn't take the trigger group in and out with the PG stock on? (though I may be thinking of another gun. Hammer cocked. Pushing in the shell latch to get it out of the way? I will say my M4 is the fussiest shotgun I own when it comes to putting the trigger group back in/lining it up.
  21. It probably weighs almost twice as much. ? I should intro-duct myself too. I'm not new here. Had an account years ago. Tried periodically over the last couple years to log in and/or reset my password without luck. Tried many times in recent months and still a no go. So I finally made a new account.
  22. You're talking a fiber optic bead? If so, it just unscrews. Might come off easier with some heat. Plenty of videos on youtube. Careful you don't crush it if you plan to reuse it.
  23. lol Disconnector was the term they use that I was grasping for but coming up empty, so reverted to secondary sear. :)
  24. Just tacking on this old thread rather than starting a new one because in truth, it's not worthy of it's own. lol I bought a bunch of Federal PowerShock buck, thinking it would do better than other things I have on hand, and my M4 at least HATES it. Doesn't matter what choke I use. (I haven't tried it in any of my Crio choked guns yet) EVERYTHING else I have on hand shoots tighter, regular green and yellow box Remington, a couple different types of Winchester, some Crital Defense, Fiocchi, even the cheap Hornady "American Gunner" junk makes it look bad. I'm shocked at how bad it patterns.
