  1. Anything at 5 yards, even birdshot, is going to drop them like a rock. Esp if out of a tight choke!
  2. What are everyones thoughts on the GG&G light mount for the M4? Seems solid and half the price of the IWC scout style clone.
  3. 1. I don't know about video, but I could take pictures if that would suffice? 2. I am certain. I am aware of both slots, and the dissassembly slot allows the stock to spin freely vs being locked in place. 3. It rotates to the left. 4. Legacy stock
  4. The Benelli M4 is a sweet piece of kit for sure. I like to keep it more of less in basic stock configuration as well due to its weight. I'm a big proponent of KISS when it comes to weapons. Only things I have on mine are a side saddle and light mount. The ghost rings work great, and don't think a red dot / optic is needed. Swapped the front sight post out with a tritium one as well. The gun just runs, and patterns great. I'm also a big fan of the Benelli M2 tactical, runs just as great for me and is a pound and a half lighter when set up the same way as the M4. I think within 50 yards, there isn't a weapon more formidable than a semi automatic combat shotgun.
  5. Exactly. Like racing a car, or anything else "with no practical purpose" it can be fun to mag dump, and it's a good way to put a shotgun through it's paces and ensure that is is properly cycling. If my AR, or glock, would choke when rapid firing, then it's an issue, same with a semi auto shotgun. During combat, one may need to fire off a few rounds in rapid succession. Though some don't "believe" in semi auto shotguns and think everyone only needs a pump. But this is AMERICA, we are free to choose what we wish. Let the Fudd's keep their pump guns! The other issue is, that if the stock is collapsing when it is not supposed too, there is likely something wrong that is not a design flaw. That issue could present itself during another situation, IE if one is firing stout recoiling magnum loads. Obviously, have the gun do anything it's not supposed to do it cause for concern.
  6. Says the person with "speed is life" in their signature! 🤣 Not sure if these are actually serious questions, or if you're just a troll. The M4 is a combat shotgun...Might as well ask why anyone would want a semi auto shotgun or rifle at all? Why would anyone need to rapid fire? All these semi autos should be banned!!! "High cap mags" too! Nobody needs more than 5 rounds for any legitimate serious use. I DARE anyone to show me what situation that an HONEST man would need to have more than 5 rounds in their gun! 🙄 🤡
  7. Hi RX Arms. Yes, I am aware that the tabs were a weak point and would break often. They then beefed up these tabs. However, I had heard from an officer that the guards broke on their 590s. And I believe he said that they like had a break in the guard themselves, not the tabs breaking. Said they got banged against a lot of stuff going in and out of squad cars and weapons racks all day. I'm also aware that not all polymer is created equal. I know nylon impregnated zytel (what the M16A2 furniture is made out of) is incredibly strong stuff. I have no clue what type of polymer Mossberg or Benelli use for their guards. Likely isn't the same type of polymer anyway (I know Mossberg likes to cheap out on stuff).
  8. Agreed. What a "welcome" to the forum. 🙄 The gun has an issue that needs to be toruble shooted. Would love some info on this. Someone must have experienced something similar before!
  9. I am testing the shotgun and putting it through its paces. I discovered an issue that is not supposed to happen with this gun, so it needs to be fixed. If it happens during this scenario, it could possibly happen some other time.
  10. People claim that aluminum is "just as strong" for the trigger guard, but Mossberg specifically made the trigger housing on the 590A1 aluminum due to reports of the polymer one breaking. I have personally heard from police that they have experienced the polymer guards on old 590s / 500s break from rough use / abuse (they get banged through handling, etc). So Mossberg purposely made the 590a1's aluminum to counter this issue. Something to consider...
  11. Esstac shot cards are what you seek You save a TON of weight and they can hold 7 shells vs 6 for most standard bulky side saddles. It is nice to also remove them if needed. Almost all serious users have gravitated over to the velcro shotshell cards now for this reason.

    Benelli M3 mods

Why are you posting in someone's thread just to complain about something they want to do? What difference does it make to you? As for not understanding why someone would want to increase the capacity of their very limited capacity mag tube fed shotgun.... 🤡 the duck forum is that way, buddy!
  13. Found out an interesting tidbit of information the other day, called into Benelli customer service for something, was speaking with one of the product techs and asked him about the M4 gas system. I wanted to know if there was a "mil spec" port size and if all commercial M4s produced have the same gas port sizing as I keep hearing stories of some people's M4s not being able to run light birdshot where as other people's can. I told him that without a break in period, mine ran very light birdshot right out of the box. I also told him that the gun did recoil a hair more than I was expecting it to, not that it recoiled bad (maybe a bit less recoil than my M2), I was just expecting very light recoil from what I had read about the M4. He informed me that a couple of years ago, Benelli optimized / improved the gas system slightly on the M4 in order to help it run more "efficiently". He said they (Benelli Italy) don't really communicate with Benelli USA, and that Benelli USA doesn't really notice any changes until they actually have the guns in hand. That's how they found out about the gas system changes, after noticing and contacting them about it. He said any change to the M4 is still mil spec as everything has to be approved by the US mil and meet their specs before being adopted. He then told me that another change they made was there was an adjustment to the anodizing process to the receiver that was done at the request of the US military. This change gave the receiver a more "blued" look. I guess customers were noticing and calling in about it. Anyway interesting stuff. It makes me want to shoot my M4 side by side with an older model to see what recoil differences I can notice.
  14. Bought a brandy new LEO Benelli M4 with full working collapsible stock. Functions great, very reliable and a good shooter. Only one issue, when in position 2 (the mid position) the stock auto unlocks and collapses itself when rapid firing 4 - 6 shells. I'm not even talking high powered stuff, just light birdshot will do it. Putting it in the mid position and rapid firing 4 - 6 shells, the stock auto unlocks, and collapses while firing. By rapid firing I mean pulling the trigger close to as fast as you can. I called Benelli customer service, they asked me to send the shotgun in. Did so, the tech said nothing was wrong with it. It turned out that he just fired 2 to three rounds normal speed (not rapidly) figured I had the stock in the "disassemble" notch (I didn't) and said it was fine. Called up to complain, they sent me a new stock, said maybe the old one was faulty. Put it on, tried it. Experiencing the same issue... Has anyone else ever experienced or heard of this issue happening before? What can I do now at this point? Thanks!
