slickbricky Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 We put out blue heron decoys in our duck decoys to (theoretically) make ducks feel more at ease about the set up. I'm thinking about setting a few turkey decoys around my treestand to make the deer more relaxed. Any opinions/suggestions? Quote
tucker301 Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Pour out 40 lbs. of corn. That'll relax them. Quote

CH/QuakerBoyProstaff Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 What? You've never been called a Pumpkin Ap p lehole by an enraged motorist shaking their fist as they drive by? I'm glad someone is finally taking a stand against all this obscenity on The Internets! Quote
MikeB Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 I've seen deer get agitated by the presence of turkey decoys during spring gobbler and fall seasons. I have had bucks approach decoys and horn them and does snort them spring and fall. At the least it will take their attention from you. Corn gets my vote. Quote
splashtx556ftw Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 hunting mulies in deep south west texas i noticed that they tended to mingle with the sheep out there. Quote
NWHunter Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Good idea Tucker, 40 pounds of corn, 1 feed trough, 10 buckets of water, and a tree stand. You could have deer, ducks and turkeys in one hunt and without leaving your stand. sounds priceless On a serious note, what about using a deer decoy to chill out that dirty old spring gobbler?? Quote
splashtx556ftw Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 not to mention a corn crop come spring. Quote
