Remy Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 I am planning on purchasing a original Super Black Eagle that is brand new. I am thinking about purchasing a Limbsaver recoil pad and one of the Benelli mercury recoil reducer cylinders that go inside of the stock. I would really appreciate any feedback that you guys have concerning the Limbsaver recoil pad and/or the Benelli recoil reducer for the SBE. I am hoping with these two devices to reduce recoil down somewhere near that of the SBE II. Thanks for any help you have to offer! Quote
tucker301 Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 With those two aftermarket items, your recoil reduction should equal or slightly exceed that of the ComforTech system. Quote
wallhanger54 Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 Only one thing to add. If you use the recoil reducer with standard 2 3/4" loads, don't expect it to cycle. The recoil reducer is only made for the 3" magnum loads and higher. Remember its an inertia operated gun and will not work if it can't recoil. Quote
69beers Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 I was actually able to cycle heavier 2 3/4" loads with my recoil reducer. I think the limbsaver does more for recoil than the mercury weight. I took mine out after my shoulder was well enough from surgery and didn't notice a huge difference. Although it may have slowed down some of the sharpness. But man, talk about heavy when you put on a scoped slug barrel with the mercury in the stock! I'll keep it around in case my hand starts going numb again on the bench, but for now the limbsaver works great. Quote
69beers Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 That's exactly what my orthopedic surgeon said! He said three screws in my shoulder wasn't enough, but maybe five or six could warrant a different recoil pad. Quote
