I would get a Lymans book too, it covers steel shot shell reloading. From what I recall Blue dot powder is a common slow burning magnum powder, find the right charge and wad from the manual.

I have before for dove season. The state park puts on a dove hunt but you have to use steel. It was about the same as lead. 1 oz loads.
