hightech1953 Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 hi guys, i need a honest answer . i have a sbe 1 that is hanging up about every 7 th or 8th round. it doens't matter if it 3" heavy loads or 3 1/2 rounds. the gun has about 300 rounds through it. all heavy loads!!! help ,,,,,,,,,,please Quote
sdkidaho Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 One suggestion I've seen in instances like this is that maybe the gun isn't being shouldered tight enough for the inertia system to cycle properly. That's easy enough to believe, especially if it's been fired 7 or 8 times consecutively, or one right after the other. Quote
luckypunk Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Umm....If you were to shoulder the gun too tightly it would NOT work. You can fire the gun "from the hip" and it will cycle. Try switching ammo manufacter, especially if winchester, as some have reported problems BTW: If you shoot yourself or someone else while shooting from the hip, it is your own fault. Quote
tucker301 Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Is this the part we're supposed to get used to? The weapon is designed to use the kinetic energy (inertia) generated from the discharge of a properly shouldered shotgun. Quote
rdn Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 I assume hanging up means it is not cycling. When I have this problem a good cleaning has always solved the problem. The only time a cleaning won't do is if I am shooting light 7/8 oz loads, but with clean gun and 1 oz loads I have had no problems. I have original springs still in it, I hear some non benelli springs are stiffer. If I put mercery stock recoil reducer plus the limbsaver recoil pad on at same time skeet loads will not always cycle. Quote
