Dntama Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 (edited) Here are some recent mods I did to my SuperNova. I shortened the LOP to 12 inches. I then filled the stock with Marine-Tex and used some screw inserts to reattach a limbsaver pad to the stock. Finally I used a dremel to modify a Burris Speed Bead to allow use with the pistol grip stock. This allows me a red dot sight that will co-wittness with the GR sights. I previously tried a Pic/wever rail in front of the GR rear sight but this did not allow a co-witness. I really like my SuperNova now. Edited January 10, 2010 by Dntama Quote
yar1182 Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 That's kind of cool. I got a m1s90 with a dotcor sight milled into the receiver, and another m1s90 with a shortened pistol grip stock. When I get enough posts for picture privlidges I'll have to post them. Quote

daleshammond Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Any thoughts on how I could increase LOP on my Cordoba to 14 3/4 and offset to 1/4? Quote
tzoid Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 I can't PM yet but I would love it if you could send me more details on what you did. I need to do this to My SNT or I'm selling it My LOP needs to be reduced as well Thanks Quote
tigerdvr Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Outstanding project. It's something I need to do to my SNT. Which model Limbsaver did you use? Thanks- Quote
tigerdvr Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 I just finished this project on my SNT. Knocked two inches off LOP, it makes a world of difference. I used a Dremel to cut the stock. Get the small size Limbsaver and grind to fit. There is another post on this site which covers the project in greater detail. I think it's well worth the effort. I'll try to post pictures later. snallygaster Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 I'd like to see some close-ups of the SpeedBead. I was going to purchase one, but didn't realize that the pistol grip would need modification. Quote

tigerdvr Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 Total actual labor was about two hours. This obviously doesn't count curing time for the Marinetex. More time was spent researching it. Like most projects of this type, the first one always takes longer. Cost depends on where you make the purcase. Discount price from Brownells was $31.47 for the Limbsaver and $28.05 for the Marinetex. Sorry, I haven't been able to post pictures, maybe I don't have enough posts. As I said, for me the project was well worth the effort. Cheers Quote
drmarc Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 Thanks for the reply. Would really like to see more pics of the OP's Speedbead fit and alteration as well. Quote
Gaust Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Nice job.. I've been thinking of selling my Nova Tactical because the LOP is to long for me. Now I'm tempted to keep it and shorten it. I've always wanted to add a Mesa Tactical side saddle, drill the reciever for the rail and add a red dot. Quote
tigerdvr Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Gaust, I felt the same way before I did the stock mod. Now it fits fine, made a world of difference. Quote
drmarc Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Anyone else running that Mesa Tact stock mounted 4 shell holder on their pistol grip stocks? Any thoughts? Is it in the way at all? Pictures? Quote
