Rail Blank on Stock M4 Handguard

Anyone ever tried to bolt a small rail onto the flat part, about 3:00 on the stock M4 handguards. I was thinking about bolting a small rail onto the right handguard, theres about a 3/4" flat spot I think it would fit. Im sure someones already tried this.

Second question, in case I muff this up, where can I get some replacement stock m4 handguards.

Why do people spend $1500 on a shotgun, then balk at a $200 mounting solution and go all bubba?

Because some people can barely scrape up the money for the shotgun itself. Why do some people always asume that a guy with a Benelli has financial freedom to buy accessories that cost hundreds of dollars? (I'm just saying ...) :p

I'm all for a guy buying the absolute best weaponry he can afford. But I also consider what it's going to cost to put it in the configuration I want, how much spare parts are, and what it costs to feed.

Otherwise, I'd have a surplus 5-ton sitting in my driveway. And I do mean sitting, because I couldn't afford parts and fuel for the beast.

like I said I really dont want a change out the handguards, I think mounting a rail to the stock ones wouldnt be that bad. will it really be that bubba? i however was planning to mount it to the flat spot closer towards the barrel. anyone else done this?

I believe Duggan had it on his "to do" list of projects. I don't know how far he has got on it. I think it looks great and wouldn't be "Bubba" as long as it was done well. If you do it and it goes well you might want to post some pics and tips. I think Falcon/Ergo has the rail segments
