Unobtanium Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Can the rail be put on and removed without taking it apart, for the purpose of removing/cleaning the barrel assy.? Is the bottom rail 1913 spec like the sides, or is it cut down the middle like the top? Quote
texas skeeter Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 I do believe Uno is contemplating getting a B&T quad rail!! and ill let you know reqarding your question later when i get home from work and can monkey with it. TS Quote
texas skeeter Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 (edited) and no the top rail is not cut down the middle. the top is one solid pc also connected to the side pieces. shaped like a horseshoe. the bottom also connects to the side rails. so the 2 pc. seem is just above and below the middle rail on both sides. its a 4 pc well engineered and fit system. look at it as connecting 2 horseshoes together with very small hexhead set screws on the sides. Unobtanium Posted May 17, 2010 Author Posted May 17, 2010 So do these 2 horseshoes stay connected during the removal of the barrel, or not? Quote
texas skeeter Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 on the M1014 no. i have to take it apart. i was told for the m4 its stays together. but i cannot confirm that cause i dont have one. Quote

needncash Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Uno, I believe we both have the 11707. The B&T rail fits perfect and is an extremely solid mounting platform. The rail has a set screw on top and stainless shims you can see in pic 1 that press fit a small retainer against the top of the barrel. I can leave the entire rail assembly in place and slide it off the magazine for disassembly. Hope that helps. Quote
