Vague
mag tube removel - add a hot plate to things that work - stripped down with just the little U shaped clamp touching the electric burner - when the intoxicating aroma of oil starts whiffing out the end of the mag tube put on those gloves and it comes right off. "honey, that don't smell like your making cookies in there!" Disclaimer: not responsible for any kitchen s'plosions - fires - or women on the rampage. who ever posted the directions to the m4 thank you - I have not really looked at them yet but I am sure it will help when I put this back together - lol - still waiting on parts for reconstruction.. Duggan
I imagine putting it in a campfire would work too, but that doesn't make it a good idea. Just kidding. Glad it worked out.
Vague
I was just sharing not promoting, most everything we do isn't a good idea but the alternative is boring. Its just a forum and methods like opinions vary. Besides everyone knows campfires are for ghost stories not shotguns.
Sukhoi_fan
Was using the heatgun method, however when that wasn't working fast enough my buddy whipped out his propane heater which mounts directly to the LPG tank and uses the tank as its stand. Set it on low, turned it near horizontal and then did the rotiserrie number on the fully stripped receiver for a very short period of time. It was much easier than we thought once we thoroughly saturated it with enough heat.
