Are Benelli's collectible?

I recently traded into a 28" 12ga Montefeltro made in 1998. It is an older Super 90 version with satin wood, matte receiver, and a polished barrel. The gun is NIB and includes the box, styrofoam liner, manual, 5 chokes, wrench, shims, and plates. The owner bought it new and never shot it. The styrofoam and box show wear but everything else is spotless.

 

I had intended on shooting it but then started to think... are these guns collectible at all? I was wanting a shooter, but would hate to ruin something otherwise desirable.

 

I appreciate your advice.

Collectable? Not yet but they do hold their value pretty well. Your LNIB 1998 Monte is worth more now than what it originally sold for.

Thank you. I really wanted a shooter, so I feel better knowing there's no reason not to blast away.

 

Sorry if it seemed like an obvious question to some, but I'm much more dialed in with handgun values and collectibility.
