Vertigofirearms Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Howdy all, figured this would be the best place to ask. I need a few of photos of a disassembled M2 receiver where the forend meets the receiver. Thanks Quote
06-530rr Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 I can take some today. Do you want the tube in or out? Quote
Vertigofirearms Posted July 17, 2013 Author Posted July 17, 2013 Ah just what I need to examine! Is the magazine tube lock-tite in from the factory? Quote
06-530rr Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Yes it is. I used two blocks of wood with a V cut out if each side. And put the tube in a vice. And spun the reciever. Came right out. If you need anymore pics let me know Quote
benelliwerkes Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 (edited) Placing the thin-walled magazine tube in a vise (not vice) is generally a bad idea, unless it is splinted internally with a correctly sized extension socket wrench, as it will easily deform, ruining it. Securing the receiver in a well-protected vise, employing heat to release the factory thread locking material and "spinning" the magazine tube is usually a safer plan for its removal and re-installation.
