etcetera
Found this video, have a question - should the pistons be lubricated? I left mine completely dry after cleaning. I hear reports that oiling the pistons will cause higher pressure. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bAK-22eo0-s
Unobtanium
I have recently began using FIREClean on all my weapons. My opinion is that FIREClean, as a VERY light coat (which will become nothing more than a "sheen" in a few days) would make cleaning the pistons easier. I use it on my suppressor mounts, and my suppressors do not weld to them even after hundreds of rounds. It is amazing on cleaning and preventing carbon build-up, and I think would do some good! Due to the M4's design (shotgun), I do not feel that any sensible amount of oil could create an over-pressure situation with the gas system. Even a STOOPID amount likely could not. WrenchBender
I do oil them, but I do wipe them before reassembly.
