Rust on M4 tips

I have a bit of rust in this rear sight, i tried to get pictures. I bought the m4 used, and looks good other than some rust on bolt and here. Can I get this out without disassembly? ive heard its a pain to remove

This is my opinion only. You don't  know where the rust is coming from. It is best to disassemble the sight, thoroughly clean and oil it. Replace any suspect parts. You paid a lot of money for that shotgun. It is worth the effort to ensure that corrosion doesn't spread. Worst case, take it to a gunsmith. Protect your investment.

It may just be preservative grease/oil. Regardless I would pull it apart and clean things out

Good points.  Hoping that pin doesn't give me too much trouble

An alternative to disassembly would be to put the straw in the nozzle of a can of Gunscrubber and blast out what you want gone.

Now will I be able to get this pin out while the base is still connected to the receiver?  I want to avoid buying replacement rear sight screws, but I also don't want to strip the threads.
