sd12 Posted September 26, 2024 Posted September 26, 2024 I have a SPAS 12 choke diverter that I am trying to separate. The set screw comes out freely, but the two sections are tight. From various pictures, it looks like it should pull apart easily. I've soaked it in penetrating oil and it's still tight. Any tips or tricks to separating this? Quote

There are some pretty good guys on that forum that might be able to point you in the right direction. 1 1 Quote
benelliwerkes Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 Mine looks like this. They don't "pull apart" it is threaded! You could use the choke wrench on the muzzle end, securing the muzzle brake portion in a protected vise. I would think the best approach would be to secure the muzzle end in a protected vise and use a cross bar thru the muzzle brake apertures to turn the part, less likely to mar the parts that way. Use a good penetrating oil first! e.g. Kano Kroil and let is soak for hours, then apply methods. 2 Quote
bambihunter Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 Take your time, these are NOT cheap! I've seen them sell for over a grand so it is worth not marring it up. Quote
