gunner76
I just bought a new M2 and I noticed when I took it apart at home the entire fire control housing and safety is made out of plastic. Is that going to hold up in the long run or is it something that will wear out quickly? Also, is it normal for the fire control assembly to have a little side to side playwhen it is in the reciever? The trigger housings on the M1's I looked at fit really tight ,but they are made out of metal. I used to own an M1 years ago and hope that the M2 will be as durable and reliable of a gun as the M1 was.
tucker301
All new Benellis carry a five year warranty. But, to answer your question, yes, the gun will hold up just fine under use and care.

sirmallard
Plastic... no, polymer yes. Polymer is what they use to make the synthetic stocks. I have the M2 and this last weekend I put 100 2 3/4" rounds and 50 3" and the only wear or tear I have to show for it is my sholder!

mudhen
Plastic parts? OMG - I'll get a memo off to Benelli right away! They must have lost their minds. I demand a reply to my e-mail and/or phone call. It's a conspiracy I say. Don't they know we know what's best?..... mudhen - CA
