nor'easter Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 i have blown a flute since i started hunting now im looking to get short reed call any suggestions? Quote
IdahoDucker Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 If you learn to blow it you will like the short reeds. Personally I think most of them need tuning out of the box. In the inexpensive category I like the Primos Honky Tonk. Higher end would be a Foiles Straight Meat Honker or a Saunders Traffic. Grounds calls have been a long time favorite and they are certainly proven but I have yet to blow one out of the box that I didn't think needed tuning. Maybe it's just my calling style. Quote
iahonkerhunter Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 I really love my Zinks calls. I have a Little Man, Money Maker, and SR-1. If your a beginer, go with the SR-1. This call comes with a instructional video which will get you on your way. Good luck Quote
Cleric Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 Check out Zink's poly lineup. I have a poly Power Maximus and find it great for the price ($30). Quote
DukDog Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 i hava a foiles strait meat honker and i really like it. they do take some getting used to but he also has instructional cd's and dvd's. Quote
MOFOWLER Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 I like the Strait Meat Honker, but you might want to get a cheaper one first to learn the basic techniques on. Buck Gardner makes the Canada Hammer and its a good call to start out on for not a lot of money. Quote
