Nova Shotgun magazine plug

Does anyone know if you can remove the plug from a Nova shotgun and still use it? I know you can buy a magazine extender, but I'm more interested in just removing the plug.

I HAVE OWNED THE NOVA FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND I HAVE TAKEN THE PLUG OUT TO SNOW GOOSE HUNT EVERY TIME...IT OPERATED FLAWLESSLY!!!!!

Works perfectly with or without the plug. All ya need is some needle nose pliers and a free hand to catch the spring and cap.

So it is like removing a 870 plug you just take off the cap on the end of the forearm and pop the spring out and catch it then take the plug out and put the spring back in right???

You will probably need to use needle nose plyars to squeeze the end cap out.

Sorry but can anyone advise how to remove the plug step by step?

Simply unscrew tube cap and remove. You will see a black cap holding the spring with a plastic red cap underneath it. Gently pry black cap out of the tube and remove spring. On the Super Nova the plug is the 6" red plastic piece pushed into the spring. Remove plug, reinsert spring and screw tube cap back on. That's it.

Many states limit the number of rounds in the magazine tube to two when hunting.
