ccwinmemphis
Do the gas pistons on a 11707 need to be taken apart and cleaned ? If so, how do you take them apart ? I punched the pin out of one and it was a major task to get it back in against the spring. If anyone knows how to do this, it would be greatly appreciated. M1014
your talking about the gas plugs, not pistons,,theres a special tool for its dissasembly,,there only to be torn down every 5000 rounds or if clearly super heavy usage then every 500 rounds,,,,,your basic manual tells nothing about there upkeep,,theres another manual that this info comes from,,good stuff,,never really thought about taking them apart,,they blow all the fouling into forend and that basically keeps them from malfunctioning,,look at the inside of your forends after 100 or better rounds and see all the fouling inside them,,,it comes from the front of the plugs.
