Guest DocLRRP Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 I spoke with Jeff at EGW today. he told me that an unanodized vrsion was sent to someone on this forum, and that if all goes well it should be in production in about a month. I think that this whole process is pretty cool. Quote
JonDaddy82 Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Here's the rail on the SNT, please excuse the phone-cam pics and the aimpoint knock-off What company makes this rail? Quote
John P. Posted May 29, 2007 Author Posted May 29, 2007 EGW. I've been working with them on this for quite a while, and just test fitted a sample for them today. Production version will be the full length of the receiver, and there will be no notch under the front part. I'll update this thread as soon as they're in production. Quote
Dntama Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Anyone know if you will still be able to use the ghost rings to co-wittness when using this rail ? What size of scope rings would work ? Quote
John P. Posted June 11, 2007 Author Posted June 11, 2007 Even the M4's doesn't allow co-witnessing. You'll need a see-through picatinny riser to be able to use the ghost rings and mounted optics. Or a quick release, cam-style mount. Quote
Dntama Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 That is very unfortunate. It would have been great to have the rails a bit lower to allow this. Quote
Guest DocLRRP Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Just heard from them via Quantum that the product is on its way. Has anyone else heard?? Quote
John P. Posted July 7, 2007 Author Posted July 7, 2007 They sent me (as the product's "remote engineer/cheerleader") a production piece on Monday ... but due to the holiday it hasn't arrived yet. UPS says it'll arrive on July 10 (Tuesday), which sucks b/c I'll be out of town. Quote
Guest DocLRRP Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 They came today! Wonderful! Now, how do I get it in place. I cannot seem to pop out the little rivets. Do I need to completely disassemble the entire weapon? Or, to avoid pain and suffering, take it to a gun smith. Help, PLEASE! Quote
John P. Posted July 11, 2007 Author Posted July 11, 2007 Got mine, too. I was hoping to get it gratis for my efforts, but alas, there was an invoice in there. :-) In any event, it's a great part & I hope you all like! You need to remove: stock trigger assem bolt ... then tap out the plugs from inside. Quote
John P. Posted July 14, 2007 Author Posted July 14, 2007 Sorry these took longer than expected ... It turned out pretty much perfect in all respects. EGW did a great job on these. Give them a call and tell them you saw John P.'s post on the Benelli Forum! Quote
rchung71 Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 Cool. Do I have to call about these, or are they listed in the online catalog? If listed, what are they called? Thanks for pushing this project forward. Quote
John P. Posted July 14, 2007 Author Posted July 14, 2007 Happy to help. I don't think they're listed yet, so you might want to call them. They also have an eBay store--I haven't looked there yet. Quote
JonDaddy82 Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Very nice! Also, do you have a TacStar barrel extension? Also, how are you mounting your sling at the end there? Quote
John P. Posted July 16, 2007 Author Posted July 16, 2007 Yes, that's a TacStar extension. The sling is Quake brand, and comes with their silent swivel mounts. I removed the rear one and looped the 1" strap through the stock's sling mount. It's set up for "Africa carry"--left shoulder, muzzle down. Quote
