Possible Solution for Forum Spamming

I noticed a post by someone on another forum stating that they couldn't post URL's yet, because they were a new user.

 

Apparently, that forum has a rule coded into it whereby new users can't post any URL's until they've been a member for X days or posted X times previously.

 

Seems simple and effective enough.

Its interesting to see how much spam this forum gets, yet not one of the other ones I visit gets any.
