KG22122
They are different guns NOVA (pump action)-SBEII, M2 (semi auto). Each one serves its purpose, so you will have to choose which gun is suitable for each job. For protection and some kind of hunting, for me, it's the NOVA . The reasons are : magazine capacity, variety of loads (light or super magnum) and ammunition (lethal and non lethal). But for the usual hunting which includes a fair amount of walking and quick reactions there are two options. The SBEII that can handle loads from 2 3/4" to 3 1/2" but not light loads as light as target loads without effects in its dependability and the M2 that handles loads from 2 /34" to 3 ". Not 3 1/2 " loads. They, both, use the same recoil system and they , both, have CRIO barrels. In the end between these two guns the choice is a matter of ones preferences and taste. My choice is the SBEII for reasons such as overall versality (loads, cleaning etc..) and to tell you the truth, the looks of the gun. As Phil Robertson says, Boom, Boom, Boom......That is my SBEII I am not comparing the guns, I own several of each, 6 Nova's both 12 and 20, 3 SBE II's, 4 M2's, both 12 and 20 ga, I was asking a question about the SBE II's fit and using the Nova as a reference
