I'm in the exact same situation. MA here, not CT, but we have the same restrictions. For semi-auto, MA residents we aren't permitted "assault weapons", which (for semiautomatic shotguns) by MA law is defined as:
A semiautomatic shotgun that has at least 2 of--"
(i) a folding or telescoping stock;
(ii) a pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon;
(iii) a fixed magazine capacity in excess of 5 rounds; and
(iv) an ability to accept a detachable magazine.'“
I chose option iii.
Now I need to procure a fixed, pistol-grip-less "field" stock.
I don't want to hijack the thread, so I created a new thread searching for one. Just wanted to add to the conversation here about another states laws.
