  1. New Benelli M4 owner. Just received model 11715, which comes with the 3 position adjustable stock, and I am finding that, out of the box, it is very hard to adjust. I twist it to the right and then it is very hard to move to the 2nd and 1st positions and then back all the way extended. I did put a very small amount of lube on the recoil tube and this seemed to help somewhat. Is this normal for a new gun? Any thoughts and/or suggestions would be appreciated!! Am I missing something?....This is my first Benelli M4.

  2. Understood and appreciate your response. From the youtube vids I have watched, it looks super simple to adjust, but that has not been the case so far. It is brand new, so hopefully it will wear in some. I don't think I'll be adjusting it much, but was surprised that it was not a smooth adjustment. Thanks @brightt!!

  3. Thank you for the information and advice. Hopefully, Benelli is willing to play ball on the warranty.

  4. We saw a lot of quality control issues come out of Benelli during the Covid era. All of the extractors I looked at have a pretty hard 90* corner on both sides with maybe a light chamfer to knock the edge down. My concern is the damage is deeper than the extractor. Like the wear on the extractor is the symptom of something else being out of spec. Could be the bolt head. Could be the bolt carrier. Could even be the barrel assembly but less likely. Without being able to hot swap parts and live firing it, you’ll just be guessing. So if Benelli will warranty it, you’d be best served going that route.

  5. Yes I would consider using a tap to try and clean up the threads, make sure you use oil. as long as the recoil tube will thread in and be secure, you can load it with a ton of red loctite when you do the install, and it should be okay. But it does need to hold torque, so you’ll have to be the judge of that. the receiver is threaded M21x1, but feel free to confirm with Benelli first. Further, I would find a local gunsmith to do this imo. also I don’t see how Benelli can fix the threads, other than using a tap like you may do. They may just say you need a new receiver instead of attempting to service it at all. I am curious how this happened, Did you force a cross threaded tube in the whole way? Did you over torque and is the threads stripped?
