Our MARDET (and myself, personally) wanted to know if the A300 UP would be a good SBS candidate to use as a semi-auto breacher and as a MTT demo piece. The original goal was to attempt to SBS a 1301 Tactical but some of the armorers up in VA informed us that due to it's "tuned" gas system and design this would not be successful (or possible at all). They purchased two 5+1 models of the A300 UP and I got one for myself to go along with my own M4 Entry and (custom) M3 Tactical SBS gas guns. The entire SBS process was super quick and easy, and the project is moving along without any issues. I'm just waiting to add on a few creature-comfort extras (Urbino, Scalarworks, AimPoint, etc.), but the Det is setting theirs up with more tactical components. As is now with it's 14" barrel, it handles any shotshell like the full-size model and is as smooth as a 1301. I will say that it's lighter weight and shorter barrel makes high brass buck and slugs very "sporty" with an effective range of 10yds using FlightControl or Versatite shells. More to follow...
