  1. Could you perhaps rephrase that mess into something comprehensible?

    Lying about what?

Do you think there is a conspiracy? Have they defrauded you in some way? Have you suffered some sort of loss and/or damages?

    Maybe 2004 was a typo?

    Maybe 2005 is a typo?

Maybe they changed something for 2005? Maybe they carved out some of the stock & forearm material to lighten the guns?

I'd give them the benefit of the doubt before accusing them of lying on their own website....

  2. Barrel stickers worked great on my matte black SBE.

Metal was clean and rust free after removal.

As a matter of fact, the stickers are pretty thick and may have saved a few dings from the duck tanks.

I would be very worried about a sticker pulling off the camo film though. I'll have to think about that one - maybe wait until I get a scratch anyway.

  3. I'm pretty sure that being a right-handed gun, the Cordoba comes with a right-handed pad. But you should be able to order a left-hand gel pad from Benelli or Benelli dealer.

I think all Benellis come with their style of plastic shipping case - whether one can consider it a 'travel' case, I don't know.

From the catalog, I see the stock has a swivel hole. The mag cap is the same as SS & S II, and there is no swivel post in those caps. I'm sure one can be attached, it's just a matter of wanting to drill the cap.

  4. I contacted SRM about a turkey Terror for the SBE II.

They said they had not tested their turkey tube in the SBE II, but would refund my $$ if I was not satisfied.

Don't know the diff from field to sporting.

I have heard from some folks at the NWTF page that the .655 was producing some good results.

I don't have the time or desire to buy 5-6 tubes, so I went with Comp-n-Choke who has tested their tubes.

I'll post C-n-C SBE II pattern photos when I get them.

    Good luck!

  5. After exhaustive research and reading posts all over, I ended up with the Comp-n-Choke XXX.

I may end up with more tubes, but I'll put the CnC through it's paces first.

The Terror folks had no testing data. Just a great money back guarantee. I may try them if the CnC does not dial in.

The Rhino/Nitro thing is always a consideration, but Benellis are more fickle than Mossy's and Remingtons, so the $200 it takes to get started just didn't appeal to me. I have a $75 box of Nitro lead that didn't impress me with any choke & gun combo.

Pure Gold claims to have a good SBE II Crio, but again, no testing data. Still might end up with one of these.

Gary Raisch is pretty much one of the leading turkey pros. His website reviews most guns and CnC combos. They have tested the SBE II with CnC chokes and came up with a chart of recommended loads. They recommend Winchester HV, which is the only toxic shell I shoot, so I went with their suggestion.

I am trying to avoid buying 5-6 chokes like I did with my other SBE's.

  6. Since many, many, guns float a shell on the carrier, I doubt that feature alone will ever render a gun de facto illegal.

It's the act of loading and shooting 4+ shells that may be illegal.

On another site, one guy mentioned that the wardens in his area now ask for the gun to be handed to them before unloading.

Tucker accurately states what I have heard about getting cited for 4 shells.

  7. Porting works - it just sucks to hunt next to the guy with the ported barrel - and many shooters complain about the noise from their own guns!!

I hunt ducks with a guy who shoots a Sport II - he loves the gun - hates the noise...

  8. The black matte Benelli finish will rust if left unattended. So will the finish on all guns.

But for whatever reason, the Benelli black matte finish does seem to get a rusty haze pretty quick. Especially on my SBE slug barrel.

BreakFree CLP or C-X seems to eliminate the problem. It takes a few weeks for the protection to wear off my SBE's, and then I just reapply.

  9. 3.5" excels with large pellet steel shot & high vel turkey loads.

I always try to use the best loads available when trying to harvest a respected game animal.

So I guess the 3.5" isn't needed if you are happy with an inferior load in certain situations....

  10. Ok guys, here is the deal.

    This is Benelli's website.

I thought a hint of sarcasm in reference to Mossturd was sufficient.

I'm not very complicated, so figuring me out is no great feat.

My sole goal here is to share my first hand experiences upon request and to hear about other's first hand experiences.

Btw - just took the SBE II plunge, Benelli #7....

  11. Blacklab, I think he was actually stating the SBE II was a good gun, I think the "****" was "he ll" of a shotgun.

Charlesmansonbee, I think you should be prevented from owing a firearm because you are clearly unstable.

Your incoherent rambling drivel is a clear indicator of your current mental condition....

  12. Saw the 2005 dealer catalog yesterday.

The SBE I is alive and well as the 'economy' SBE. It includes some of the SBE II features and the price is lower than the II. The forearm is SBE II, but the stock is not ComforTech. Don't recall any mention of Crio - don't think it is.

This is prolly good news for all the makers of SBE I accessories like choke tubes, etc.

The Cordoba comes in 28" and 30" and I think the MSRP was $1600.

Prices looked pretty much the same as 2004.

  13. I'll second the locktite thought.

Try heating it up to see if you can break the loctite - I use a cheap little propane torch and it works fine - a bit sooty, but fine.

NOMB, but how the heck did you dent the mag tube through the forearm?!?

Otherwise, yep, let Benelli fix it, prolly cheaper than doing more damage.

    Good luck!

  14. I'm with Tucker, I would use 3" or even 2.75" for the snows.

It's the pellet size that counts, unless you are using HeviShot.

But, the extension is pretty nice to have, so buy it if you want it.

Last time I shot spring snows, I liked having extra shots for cripples or birds coming down hit with the head still up.
