I wondered about this when I saw your first post, stating your intentions to make a purchase while visting the US. Based on some quick research, there are circumstances under which you may be able to accomplish this. Obviously, it's going to be a somewhat complicated procedure. 1. In searching, I found a link to an ATF (the US governing agency for firearms) publication on the subject of non-immigrant aliens and the purchase and exportation of guns. http://tinyurl.com/5assk (Adobe PDF) Quoting from the document.... "Purchasing a firearm or ammunition from a Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) for exportation A nonimmigrant alien generally MAY purchase a firearm or ammunition from an FFL if the firearm/ammunition is directly exported by the FFL, so that the nonimmigrant alien DOES NOT take possession of the firearm/ammunition in the United States prior to exportation. To export a sporting shotgun or ammunition for a sporting shotgun, the FFL from whom you purchase the firearm/ammunition must obtain an export license from the Department of Commerce prior to exportation. To export firearms other than sporting shotguns or ammunition for firearms other than sporting shotguns, the FFL from whom you purchase the firearm/ammunition must be registered with the Department of State, Office of Defense Trade Controls (ODTC). The FFL must obtain an export license from the ODTC prior to exportation. The State Department recommends that you provide the FFL with a letter from your embassy on embassy letterhead explaining why you want to export the firearm/ammunition. You also should provide an import authorization issued by the competent Government office in your country." This document includes contact information for the ATF at the bottom of the page, so I strongly suggest that you contact them to obtain the latest information. Also note the section regarding local and state laws, which may STILL prohibit the sale. 2. You should obviously also contact your local and state governments to make sure that everything is handled properly on the Danish side. It may be required that you make arrangements with a Danish importer or dealer before you come to the US. Good luck, and enjoy your visit! [ 03-12-2005, 02:10 PM: Message edited by: tucker301 ]

I agree that the Cordoba should cycle lighter loads, and it is marketed as a crossover field gun. That said, the specs do still include the 3 dram 1-1/8 oz. minimum recommendation. I hope she'll break in and allow you to shoot the lighter stuff on the range, and fulfill her promises as marketed. Compared to the SBEII, how does the gun handle and feel?
-
Charles, I found my LH SBEII by calling about 20 different shops until I got that had it in stock. Let you fingers do the walking.
-
Take it to a gunsmith and have it drilled and tapped.
-
And, forgot to say.... Birddog, thanks for that post. Revolutionary is one overused word in marketing these days, but not in this case! That is one baaaad motherf (watch yo mouth!)
-
I don't know. have you read the warranty?
-
Excellent point, my friend. If the trend continues, Kevlar may be the hottest fashion at the range.

Ever heard of Google? http://www.berettausa.com/media/webcasts/webcast.htm

Lee, Welcome to the Benelli family. You'll soon learn to separate the helpful Benelli owners from the hopeless wannabes here. As birddog said, don't sweat the finish. This dog is made to hunt! Besides, it's not bluing, technically, but we know what you mean. I have seen several posts regarding the bolt handle. Mine is nearly impossible to remove when following the manual's procedures. I always remove the barrell, and slide the bolt out intact. Once out of the receiver, the handle comes out easily. As for rattle, recheck for proper assembly. Mine rattles not a bit. PS: Suffolk, huh? I'm just a bit more inland.

Thanks, phenom. The CS rep. called and left me a message today. They received the stock and forearm and they agree it was a mismatch. Someone from CS is going to the repair facility to look for a macth personally. Just so you know, the recoil thing above was an ongoing joke that spilled over from discussions about shotguns. Good information to have though.

Dacos, ignoring crazyhair won't make him go away, but it will keep you from the bottle. In response to your very well structured and interesting question, I don't think it will fit, but please call Benelli customer service to be sure. Now then, since the M1 reducer may not fit the M2 Tactical stock, there are allternatives offered by third party suppliers. I believe Golden Bear, a member of this forum can supply you with some information. If he doesn't respond to this thread, please start a new one with his name in the title and ask him for the link. [update] Here we go. I knew I had the link soemwhere. Give these guys a call and see what they can do for you. http://www.mpcsports.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=245 [ 03-11-2005, 04:06 PM: Message edited by: tucker301 ]

No. 3 drams indicates the powder charge. 1-1/8 oz. indicates the shot charge. The SBE2 will cycle, after break-in, any load of any length meeting those two minimum parameters. Follow this link for a guide to which shells (Federal) make the grade. http://www.federalcartridge.com/default.asp?pg=27&firearm=5 [ 03-11-2005, 03:41 PM: Message edited by: tucker301 ]

As you stated, hevi-shot is more dense. The molecular density determines how much energy is delivered on the target when the shot impacts. Using a broader analogy, would you rather be hit by a pound of feathers at 1200 fps, or by a pound of brick at 1200 fps? I've been looking for some depleted uranium, so I can pull down ducks at 200 yards, but no one seems to have any for sale. [ 03-11-2005, 02:59 PM: Message edited by: tucker301 ]

crazyhair, Look behind you, on the wall, about 12 inches above eye level. IdahoDucker almost got you with that one.

I was told the same thing on my LH version and am still waiting. In fairness, it IS still March.

Engineers thought that the Benelli's recoil would shake it loose.

I think there was a "Queer Eye for the Straight Girl" marathon on last night, so he/she may have been busy. [ 03-10-2005, 05:38 AM: Message edited by: tucker301 ]

mudhen, As your spotter, I must advise you that those Molsen rounds are hitting about 18" above the intended target

There are no barrell extensions. If you are talking about serious skeet shooting, the shorter barrells will most likely be frustrating on the range. Also, the tactical model features a rifle-like sights; not very desirable on the skeet range either. Consider buying two weapons, instead of one weapon for two purposes. If you can only afford one at this time, get a nova with a 26" barrell for hunting and skeet. It will function equally well for home defense until you can save up for a tactical model.

As some of you "old timers" know, I sent my R1 in to have the cracked stock replaced around mid-January. This was after CS had sent me a replacement stock via mail, but it was turned down because of a grain/tone mismatch. Yesterday, I received the rifle back. I was truly disappointed upon opening the case to find that the new stock was about twice as glossy as the original. This alone would not be such a big issue, but since they left my old forearm on, the mismatch in finishes was unbearable. Determined to keep my cool and act courteously, I contacted CS about the mismatch issue. The representative was very apologetic and has taken on the project personally. I have returned my stock and forearm to her and she has promised to personally search through the available stock of parts and to find either a stock to match my forearm or to find a new matched set. I told her to take her time and that I wouldn't need the weapon back until early next Fall. She promised it wouldn't be that long IF I'd needed the gun sooner, I might be less understanding, but I know how things work in the real world. I can almost envision a gunsmith telling an apprentice named crazyhair (random example) to "go and find a stock to match this forearm and install it on the gun". Even the goofballs of the world sometimes make their way into the best companies, so I'm not bitter. It's persistent F'ups that get under my skin. I have confidence that I will soon receive a matched set back and will be pleased. If only the R1 were offered in "plastic"
