  1. I didnt edit my reply right I meant to say mod choke for goose not full It would not be a good idea to use full sorry for the miss info. I am waiting for DU CA. to get back with me ther is 246 acres sw of THUNDER BAY that has a 55 acre pond lots of grouse and waterfowl , with some moose and deer so it would be good for all hunting and fishing in my eyes and DU is looking to see if it is a good piece of property to recondition to waterfowl habitat. thanks for the info
  2. I used a full with a 3"bb for geese then bought a petternmaster choke for my M2. As for ducks I use an imp cyl and some times even a cyl choke. I use FEDERAL ULTRA-SHOCK HIGH VELOCITY STEEL for ducks and FEDERAL ULTRA-SHOCK HEAVY HIGH VELOCITY STEEL for geese. CANADIANHUNTER, BY THE WAY THINKING OF BUY LAND SOUTHWEST OF THUNDERBAY OR NORTHWEST OF HEARST WANTING TO KNOW HOW THE HUNTING IS OVER THER. ONLY HUNTED IN ALBERTA. THANKS [ 10-20-2004, 03:02 PM: Message edited by: geeseM2 ]
  3. Flatlander, I bought a M2 this year and hunt in NE,CANADA, AND HERE IN THE SOUTH , for pintails to geese and everything imbetween I love my M2 the 3" shells are just fine for geese and the recoil is less. I shot a sbe2 and after talking to friends that are guides I chose the M2. I use a FRANCHI O/U LEFTHAND for upland hunting so check out the M2 and you might be surprised by the way it feels and 3" shells are just fine for geese no problems nocking down big canadas with them. alot of the guides I know even use o/u's with 3" shells with great results. not trying to say you need to buy a M2 but look at all your options and enjoy your new gun. allso you need to break it in about 100-200 shells will be the norm. 4. No problem in my M2 with the kent,s only shoot 3" though.
  5. I use either Federal ultra-shock high velocity steel or ultra-shock heavy high velocity steel. i my self cant see paying around $2.00 a shot . I tried Kent FASTEEL AND IMPACT and thought that the kent steel was a good shell the impact is about the same price as the hevi-shot. I bought a case of the fasteel and NOW use both KENT and FEDERAL. As for the FUD'S I HAVE NEVER USED NOR KNOW ANYONE THAT HAS. [ 10-17-2004, 01:26 PM: Message edited by: geeseM2 ]
  6. I had a similar problem with my M2. After getting frustrated and scatching my head I called a friend that is a guide and he said that it might be that I did not shoot anough rounds but I told him that ther was 200 rounds through it. then he sggested what threeshot has. after complete disassembly I found alot of build up that more then likely was from the shells that I was shooting I cleaned the gun and switch to federal ammo and can say that after one case of ammo no problems just my $.02 cents. good luck and keep us informed.
  7. OUR EARLY SEASON GOOSE WAS SEPT 10-25 AND WE DID NOT SEE TOMANY AND IF WE DID THEY WERE TO FAR TO CALL ALL OF THE GEESE SEEM TO GO TO AREAS WERE YOU CANT HUNT LIKE THE LAKE AT THE HARD ROCK CAFE HERE IN MYRTLE BEACH. THEY JUST KEEP DRAINING SWAMP AND WETLANDS. BUT TOMORROW THE 16th OUR SEA DUCK SEASON STARTS AND HOPEFULLY THAT WILL HOLD US OVER UNTIL NOV 24 WHEN WE CAN START TO HUNT GEESE AND PUDDLE JUMPERS AGAIN GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE. heavy shot

Im from Allentown PA. and remember hunting in New Tripoli ther was alot of fields and birds dont know if ther is now that was in the late 80's and early 90's. Ther was a place called the chuckery that we hunted but what my grandfather said no hunting ther any more. my grandfathers friends would stock pheasants every year to help with the pop. With the stocked birds we used#6's and when we hunted were ther was a good pop of wild birds we used #4's.
  11. I hunted teal for the first time this year during the early season. I had people tell me that you can not eat them. My question is can you or can you not eat teal?
