  1. That tube is the factory 3-position tube. Smithing the fixed recoil tube was the only option before these were available. Not that they are, you shouldn't bother with smithing.
  2. I would HIGHLY recco that you just buy a factory tube from Numrich. Not only will it cost half as much, but you won't have to worry about stock alignment, fit, etc. Far easier to replace with a factory unit. Smithing the recoil tubes came from the lack of a factory tube to replace the Limited Edition tube. Now that factory tubes are available, the smith option should go away entirely.
  3. The spring has more to do with this than differences in ammo. The spring binding or using too long a spring will reduce ammo capacity.
  4. It's happening on this very board. People are lining up to pay $299 for a full-length magazine tube for the M4 when the same thing is available for $100 from other vendors. Just the nature of demand.
  5. Welcome to 12 gauge shotguns. Black and blue shoulders are part of the game. While you may be able to hold the Nova a bit more properly, you will unavoidably have a sore and/or marked shoulder after an extended range session. Semi-autos are a it more forgiving in felt recoil, but not dramatically.
  6. People still seem to be buying $299 full-length mag tubes from someone on this site, but Numrich Arms (e-gunparts.com) is selling them for $99. While you'll hear comments about the quality of the $299 (I'm one of those that bought one), I would have opted for the $99 ones from Numrich if they had been available when I bought.
  7. I wouldn't use red loctite to install the new tube, it's just not necessary. Try a few drops of blue so you can get it back off if you need to. There's no chance of it coming unscrewed since the magazine cap is holding it in place.
  8. People have varying experiences with the mag tube. I've read 20 minutes in the oven, but this require a complete disassembly of the gun to avoid melting any hidden plastic parts. I've read, lik eyou experience, people using a heat gun for 20 minutes to no avail. I used a heat gun for 2-3 minutes and it came off with hand pressure. Couldn't have been easier. I think it all depends on how much of the green loctite is used to secure it.

What you have is a post-ban M3 that someone retro-fitted a folding stock to. The M3s with original folding stocks came in only briefly before 1994. M1 and M3 stocks are interchangeable.
  10. 922r has absolutely no effect on those states that have AW laws. There are no pre-ban models of the Benelli M4/M1014 for residents of places like CT or CA to exploit. The fact that you are talking about a US made telestock for the M4 would not help these people in the least. Might want to refrain from mentioning 922r in that context, it makes a very confusing law that much more confusing to those that don't know.
  11. There you go again, citing 922r as applying to specific states. You do understand 922r is federal law and has absolutely no applicability at a state level, right?
  12. Wow. I think you are WAY overestimating people's interest in this at that price. Look at the prices for factory stock/pistol grip sets, they are not selling when listed about $500 or so. What makes you think you can double that price and find ANY buyers. Of those that care about 922r, they want specifically want the factory telestock and PG, not simply any telestock and PG. Also, not sure I understand your comment about 922r and California. 922r applies nationwide and Californians cannot have telestocks on M4s due to the state AW laws.
  13. What would you do for a pistol grip on a US made telestock? Factory pistol grips by themselves are hard to come by, they usually come as a set with the factory telestock. If a US made telestock is going to be made as an alternative, then it'll need a grip too.
  14. Many manufacturers serialize the barrel and the receiver and while it might some applicability to parts logistics, it is primarily about universal law compliance. Glock, HK, any manufacturer with a large international market will, as much as possible, legally universalize any gun they make. In America, obviously, the receiver is the "firearm", but in South Africa and many other countries, the barrel is the legal firearm and hence needs serializing. Benellis are serialized in several places so that all guns are universally compliant with regard to the actual serialized "firearm." This way any gun can go anywhere and have the correct part properly serialized pursuant to that country's law.
  15. Benelli M1 Tactical barrel with brazed-on MMC front blade sight. Drilled for tritium, but none installed. Barrel has been Magna-ported and refinished in Roguard. Barrel is in excellent condition and includes all factory chokes. Asking $350 shipped. E-mail me at [email protected] for pics.
  16. You'll also have to get a new recoil spring tube from Numrich so the stock can actually collapse.
  17. Anyone know if the M4 recoil tube will fit an M1?
