    S.B.E. Price

What can one expect to pay for an original S.B.E in camo. I found a couple for $1059.00. I thought that was pretty high for a discontinued gun. Anyone find a better price?

  3. I've watched this thread develop but stayed on the sideline. As a neutral bystander I have to say that I would bet the farm (or at least my unbunched underwear) that the attention Bryce is now getting is because of this thread. Nice job people. Good luck Bryce and keep us posted. The thread did result in one unexpected side affect....Never before have I heard a bunch of hunters discuss their underwear.

Wow! You can tell it's not hunting season!
  5. Anyone heard anything yet on the "rumor"?
  6. Colaradoryan, Thanks for the informative post. I'm sure I'm not the only one to learn something here. This topic has come up several times on the forum.
  7. Mudhen has a point. Why argue? He isn't bashing Benelli (never has). The fact is if it is not the fastest why say that it is? Benelli also claims to have built the softest kicking gun on earth. Is that really accurate?
  8. Could someone tell me...Would a ported barrel have the same amount of reduction in felt recoil as a gas gun?
  9. You are absolutely right Tucker. I'll bet that the majority of game that got away wounded (deer, turkey or whatever) were the result of taking an ill-advised shot. Mudhen, I tried the win. ext. # 6 today. That really is an impressive load. I couldn't believe the pattern that I was getting...consistantly over 20 good head/neck hits at 40 yards. (Shooting 3" .) It was pretty expensive though.
  10. Nice going Mudhen. Here in New York turkey season doesn't start until May first. I'm already chomping at the bit. Now, seeing your turkey pictures only makes it worse. I always thought I'd out grow this. I guess not.
  11. After some advice and some reading up, I guess I was over choking the # 4s. I am using the Comp-n-choke xxx full. I switched to winchester supreme turkey loads..2oz # 5s. The results with the 5s were 34-36 good hits at 30 yards...17-22 good hits consistantly at 44 yards. Tucker, I've killed a lot of turkeys and very few over 30 yards. I was just kind of confused as to why my gun was performing that way... more than being concerned that I might not be able to take a long range shot at a bird. I guess I have my answer. Thanks All.
  12. I shot my 3" 12 guage today. Here are the results...With #4 shot I totally blew the head apart at 20 yards, Put 36 hits in the head & neck at 30 yards but only 3 hits in the head & neck at 40 yards. Why such a sudden drop? I then switched to # 6 shot. Similar results but with 8-12 in the head and neck at 40 yards. Any Advice?
  13. Crazyhair, It is understandable that you want to get a good idea about the recoil of the sbeII before you spend that kind of money. I asked the same questions on this forum before. I have owned a rem. 870, a savage single shot 16 and now own a browning gold hunter. I really enjoy the hunter but wanted a new 3.5 turkey gun. I was about to buy a sbeII when I started reading the posts on hear about recoil. I am still interested in one if I can find one. However I don't think that you or I will really find out the recoil until shooting one. Unfortunately, I do not know anyone who has one. The comments about switching to a 20 guage are unfair. I've shot 12 g forever. The 870 had a kick with 3"...although not horrible. The Browning gold is pretty soft (in my opinion) even with 3" shells. I shot a friend's older mossberg with a stiff recoil pad one time and had to go pick up my shoulder. I will never shoot that gun again. From all of the posts that I've read the benelli should probably kick a little more than some of the gas guns. The only way to know for sure is to shoot one.

    SBEII Makover

    OK, what is diamondkote?
  15. Just wondering why anyone would want this gun in the NoncomfortTech model. Is this for those who.... like a little more kick???
  16. Just trying to see how to stretch this post out to 36 without offending anyone. Anyway, Mudhen, did they change the choke wrench for the SBEII?
  17. TB, Mudhen is very shotgun-knowledgeable and it WAS sarcasm. Don't feel bad though. The guys on this forum are very helpful. I am in the northeast and have had a very difficult time finding a SBEII. I think that the few that I found had to be seconds judging by their condition. I expressed my frustration on this forum and received some criticism also. I think that some thought I was anti-Benelli. That wasn't the case. I had saved up for a new turkey gun and set out to buy what I believed was the best only to get disappointed at the stores. I refused to settle for a shotgun with the sight bead off-center and the camo already comming off in many places. I am waiting for new shipments in hopes that I will find a good one.

    2005 Model Info

Well, after posting the above I read mudhen's post. Obviously there is a new catalog. Mudhen, anything changed in the SBEII?

    2005 Model Info

I still haven't seen a catalog. I did notice that the "2004" has been removed from this website. Does that mean this is it for 05? Have any of you seen any "new" product info? In particular I have been following closely the sbeII as you have probably seen from my previous posts. Just wondered if it has been changed any for 05. Benelligirl told us a couple of months ago of some new things comming out but I've not seen anything yet.
  20. I too have looked at several Benellis. When I commented on the bare spots on the barrel and other parts I got similar replies...Even from some on this forum....It seems that you should'nt worry about the defects. Don't misunderstand me,I am very impressed with the entire concept of the sbeII but when I buy a new one I would like it to be in NEW condition. $1300 is too much to spend for something in less than new condition. In my opion bare spots, off center sight pins etc. are not new condition.

    05 models?

Awhile ago nelligirl told us of some new models to come out in 05. Still nothing on the web sight and I've not seen anything in a store. It's almost February. Anybody seen any new info? When can we expect new models to come out?

    2005 Benelli

Nelli Girl: Are you at liberty to comment on the original post? When do the new models get announced? Will there be any changes to the S.B.E. II?

    2005 Benelli

Does anyone know when Benelli comes out with the new models etc.? I've read and participated in a lot of posts regarding the SBEII. It is my understanding that this was the first year for the S.B.E.II. I am new to benelli. I have always heard that they were the best. I had been saving to buy a new turkey gun (Browning Gold probably) when a friend told me about the S.B.E.. I then researched the S.B.E.II and kind of got the fever for one. As I mentioned in another post I could not find one that was in very good shape. I've read several posts and heard of many concerns (ie; recoil pads comming off, finish,). I realize that problems often surface during the first year of a product's existance. I am curious as to how Benelli will address those concerns and to see if there are any changes in the 2005 models. If so I will wait til the 05's come out.
  24. Maybe a dumb question but why are you going to great lengths to reduce the recoil? Is the recoil that bad? I'm not being a smart***, It's just that i have been researching the gun quite extensively and have asked about recoil before. Benelli claims it is the softest shooting autoloader out there. I have heard opionions both ways. I'd like to find one to shoot but can't even find one to buy!! If you are an experienced shooter please advise on the recoil compared to other autloaders(ie: Browning gold, Remington 1187 etc).
