  1. Isn't CALROSE rice from Cali? If Mudhen's birds are an indicator it looks like Cali is a good place for bird hunting. Doesn't Cali have some weird gun laws though?

    M1014 Price

Does anyone know if the M4 civilian stock (non-pistol grip) will fit on the M1014?
  3. I believe someone on this thread said no the recievers were different. Try a search or try contacting customer service. Benelli is supposed to be coming out with an M2 Tactical maybe it will have a pistol grip, if so you could probably purchase the stock once it comes out.
  4. Sounds like you got a quality job at a good price.
  5. Looks good. Tucker301 if you do a search on some of the other gun forums you will probably run across some threads of people painting their guns themselves. It might not look as good, but usually is cheaper. You might also be able to find an autobody shop that has an airbrush artist who will do it for a reasonable price. I really wanted to get my gun professionally painted, but $350 is more than I wanted to pay. The $350 wasn't through this artist, I have no idea what he charges.

    2005 Benelli

Does anyone know when Benelli is expected to release the 2005 catalogue?
  7. Springer7, It's your gun, if it shoots the loads you want take it waterfowl hunting. I'm going to take my M1014 skeet shooting. Like most automatics and as Tucker301 pointed out the SS needs to be broken in. Shooting a few boxes of heavy loads would do that. If you go to this http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=36758 A guy gives his opinion of his new SS. If the link doesn't work go to Shotgun World, then benelli, subject is Supersport. He seems to like it. I think it might be my next gun purchase. [ 01-15-2005, 05:46 AM: Message edited by: Irish ]

Thanks, I knew I could count on you to give me an answer.

    M1014 Price

Did you guys do anything special to break your M1014/M4s in, like shoot heavy loads?
  10. As long as the skeet range doesn't have a problem with it, it is possible. I tried shooting a round several years ago. I sucked and shooting an 18.5" cylinder barrel didn't help. I want to try it again since I'm much better at skeet than I used to be. Most skeet ranges restrict your shells to 2 3/4" #7 through #9. I don't know what choke I would recommend for an 18.5" barrel. Try the one that gives you the biggest spread first and then work down. In normal size barrels 28"-30" a lot of people shot a skeet choke.
  11. Not sure I follow you. Are you mad because someone had a misfire and he believes he is outshooting his gun or that people feel the need to get aftermarket parts? I'll be happy just to have an M4. What are you shooting?

    semi-auto vs o/u

I primarily shot an O/U. I like the feel of them. I do shoot an auto once in a while and once I save up enough money plan on purchasing the Benelli Supersport to shot clays with. If you are new to clays and not sure if you are going to be committed to the sport I would recommend getting an auto first. Mainly because you can generally get them cheaper.
  13. There is a lot of debate about trying to reduce reoil for shotguns. I suggest doing a search here and at shotgunworld.com and read different opinions and then try to decide. I believe if you search for lengthening forcing cones, porting, overboring, mercury recoil reduces, ported chokes, and recoil. I would start with recoil first you might find your answers.
  14. If that does pan out that way it still would be nice if you could buy a ComfortTech stock that would fit on your M1.
  15. What are some new products you would like to see from Benelli in the future? I would like to see the comfortech stock available on the M1 Super 90. The ability to purchase longer barrels for an M4/M1014 say 26 and 28 inch. Tactical M2 (suppose to see in 2005)
  16. Personnel preference. 26"-30" for an auto would give you a ball park to work with. My O/U is 30" and my auto is 28" You need to fix your poll. [ 01-09-2005, 02:16 PM: Message edited by: Irish ]
  17. I still think you got a deal. I would follow Robert II's advice. If you scroll down the forum page you will see someone else is having the same problem. Since Benelli is inertia operated the more junk you hang on the gun the more recoil that is absorded. I would take all of accessories off and try it. Then prioritize what you want on it and add that stuff. Keep testing it to see what the gun's threshold is. I've shot 2 3/4 skeet loads through mine and never had a problem, but my gun is naked.
  18. Try it if you can. It looks comfortable. I bet if you did a search on this site or some other shotgun forums you could find some reviews.
  19. Has anybody heard anything new?

    M1014 Price

Thanks for you input guys. That is a sweet looking gun stevenb. Do you guys think Benelli might change anything for 2005?
  21. Can you try lighter loads? I don't shoot 3.5", but I know 2.75 comes in various loads 7/8 oz, 1 oz, etc..

    New Benelli?

I looked at the Super Sport last night. It felt real good when I shouldered it. The recoil pad feels excellent. I almost got it instead of the M1014. I think it will be my next purchase. I wish I could provide you some feedback on shooting it.

    M2 vs SBE2

Drundel, He is shooting 12. He is probably 5'10 and weighs @210. I don't know the volume of his actual shooting when he is down there. From what he has told me you can wear yourself out shooting there are so many birds. Some guys would start out maxing the rounds in there guns and then taper off, because they would get tired of lifting the gun. He takes two Montes and recommends bringing two guns so you have a spare. He has had no problem with the Montes, but recommended bringing spare o rings/seals if you take an 1100. One fellow spent more time fixing his 1100 then shooting. Not bashing Rem just passing on the story. He recommends Tucamen, Argentina. The fellows he went with said that was the best place they have been in SA. They used TREK outfitters out of Ponta Verde, FLA. Shells were $9.50 a box in Tucamen, I guess you can't bring your own. His biggest complaint was his should would get raw from mounting the gun (chafing). Recommended bringing a vest or a shirt with a quilted vest. Hope this helps. Good luck! One day I would like to do it myself.

    M2 vs SBE2

Drundel, My dad is in his 60s and he takes to Montes. He doesn't work out and if anything eats to much. I have never heard him complain about the recoil.
