  1. There were 3 of us, and everyone got a limit of woodies.
  2. You're all crazy! With any SBEII, when the last shot is fired the bolt is locked open, so you can enter another shell into the breech.
  3. Very proud of the SBEII, I got 3 limits of doves in four hunts. This gun shoots like no other gun I have. I took several "doubles" and didn't miss very many shots in range. However, the first 3 days I didn't clean the inertia system. When I finally cleaned the gun it started to jam shells. Is it the residual oil? I didn't leave much on the spring. It almost seems as if this gun will shoot better...........dirty?!?!?

    Used SBE I?

just for the record, if you find a SBE that shoots for 400.00 call me so I can buy it.

    Used SBE I?

going price seems to be 750-900 depending on condition. However, I think alot of guys will agree with me; I don't like buying used guns. Unless I know the owner, and have been around the gun while in use. It's just one of them thangs. You never know. [ 07-25-2005, 10:25 PM: Message edited by: Waylon ]

    a sbe ??

cnew, My SBE2 will shoot target loads with what little break-in it has had. Maybe 50 rounds of 3.5" shells. Make sure you learn how to completly disassemble the inerta system. Keep all components clean if you want to shoot the light loads. Waylon
  7. Tucker, you have the "cool" choke tube wrench. I got the crappy nonfunctional one, just like the one that came with my Nova. What gives?
  8. Are these chokes as horrible as everyone says? Will a cheap aftermarket extended choke outperform the factory chokes i have? If so why doesn't benelli release the "mack Daddy" extended crio chokes?
  9. are my standard factory chokes, CRIO CHOKES? If not why the **** arn't they? [ 07-23-2005, 11:40 PM: Message edited by: Waylon ]
  10. Too much RAMBO for me. Do those come in MAX-4?
  11. Yes, several guys in Arkansas will swear by Kent. I might pick some up, and shoot some clays for practice. I have read somewhere that the Winchester Drylocks have an irregular "cone" shape, and several people have complained about malfunctions. Mainly in the Browning Gold, and SBEII. Thanks
  12. Tucker, Can you Recommend a shell for me to pickup next time im at the sporting goods store, please. Here are my specs. need a 3.5" shell for "decoying" ducks from 30-45 yds. But will reach out to 55 if needed Need shot size too please. (Medium sized Mallard Ducks) Also, I shot a box of Hevi-shot last year with 0 Cycling problems, but 2 bucks a shot is rediculious. Your help is appreciated.
  13. This is not a whinefest, and I will never bash this gun until I am fully aware that its' not something I'm doing wrong. I'm here for advise. So, (aside from the dlckheads at the shooting range,) It turns out, it was a good day for trapshooting. But that's another story. I tried to finish breaking-in my SBEII this morning at the gun range. (per the manual) I thought I would waste some 3.5's at some clay targets to finish the break-in period on the SBEII. The 3.5's were left over from Duck/Goose season, they were Win. Drylocks, and Federal something or another el' cheap o' 3.5's, both #2 shot. Anyway the SBEII jamed these shells 2 times out of 25 shots. Needless to say, I wasn't too happy. This also happened with these shells during the season back in December. What is the deal with this gun? Or is it these shltty shells? I don't get it, because, to my suprise, the same SBEII cycled 2-3/4 clay target loads like a champion! I couldn't believe it. Yup, the lightest load 12 Ga. shell on the planet. RELOADS AT THAT! cycled perfectly. What gives? I freakin love this gun. It fits me perfectly, and I was hitting 20/25 trap with the 2 3/4's. So, I was very pleased with that. However, I need the 3.5's to cycle or this gun is useless during duck season. When it jams, it will fire the shell in the chamber, and fully eject it. It will attempt to release the next shell from the magizine, and thats where it stops. Halfway out of the magizine. Please help! Is it the shells? 14. Tucker, can you elaborate (sp?) on the HMR, and HM2 please. I understand the HM2 is Mach 2? Holy Crap 300 shooting a varmint! Thats impressive! I've got to have one! Thanks
  15. The .22 has plenty of power from 150yds in. good enough for a wiley coyote. Many-a yotes have been struck "deader than a door nail" with a .22 As for ammo, I use to love the hollowpoint "stingers" I don't remember the manufacturer, but the box simply said "Stinger" Haven't been able to find them in years though. Don't know why, but those shells always sounded louder than conventional shells. Alot of guys brag and boast about the .17 cal. rifles. They claim that they are the best rifles for coyote, and other varmits. I understand the velocity of the .17 is more than double the .22 I don't have one, but I think the .17 cal may be on my Christmas list this year. Anybody know of a good .17 cal. under $250.00
  16. Note to anyone thinking of restoring/polishing guns. This is seriously hard work. It took me 2 weeks to finish this one. This gun does not look as good as the pictures may show. You can still see pitt marks where the nickle/copper didn't fill completly in. (or maybe im just a perfectionist) Some guns, like this one, will never get to "show" quality. this one was too badly rusted and pitted. It would have been a full time job finish at "show" quality. However, I never intended it to be a showpiece, its just a coyote gun, for the watermelon field. It will more than likely be my first boy's gun, as it was my first too.
  17. Here's a close up of the barrel. Its Long Rifle only. If im not mistaking, these guns were readily available from Sears, and Otasco (Tucker, feel free to chim in, You guys remember Otasco?) I have easily put 200,000 rounds through this rifle. When I completly disassembled it, it was full of unfired powder, and gunk from years of neglect, and abuse. About 3 sessions of degreasing, and some serious cleaning, polishing chrome plating , and shes as good as new. Now, I just need to get my magizine tube, and front sight from e-gunparts.com I cant wait to try it out again. [ 07-07-2005, 05:25 PM: Message edited by: Waylon ]
  18. I bought a triple chrome plate kit from caswellplating.com It's hard work, but it turns out good.
  19. Got bored this week, and decided to restore my first gun. My dad bought this for me when I was 6 or 7. Well i'm 26 now, and thought it was time for a face lift on this old Glenfield model 75. . [ 07-04-2005, 04:39 PM: Message edited by: Waylon ]
  20. Not a benelli question, but this is the only place I know to get good replys. OK, so I finally got around to restoring my Glenfield 75 .22 (First gun my dad gave me, years ago!) down to the bare metal. I have removed 30 years of black paint, and rust off of this baby, and It looks fairly well. (Muric acid is bad-*** on old rusted guns!) However, what the **** am a suppost to do with this aluminum bolt body housing, and trigger guard? They're ALUMINUM for crying out loud! I polish, and the're oxidized in 1hr. back to the grey color. Is there anything I can do besides paint the gun black again? I have seen black paint on this gun since I was 3, and im sick of it. Please help, i would like to keep the polished look, any suggestions.
  21. Tolerances are in the .00005 range, so that will not be close to a problem. Didn't really care about plating the springs and pins. I was more concerned with the bolt body, and handle. Trigger too! Anybody know what type of metal these are made of? Thanks Wallhanger where can i look for prices on the factory chrome bolt body, and handle. I saw brownells parts, but they don't offer bolt body in chrome for the SBEII, also, they wanted 388.02 for it! WOWZERS! [ 06-14-2005, 08:30 PM: Message edited by: Waylon ]
  22. Has anyone ever chrome plated their benelli parts? I'm asking because I would like to chrome plate some of my inerta driven parts. Will this have any effect on my gun? (other than warranty) Especially the Bolt, and Bolt Lever. These parts will most definatly be Chrome plated. I'm doing tons of research on caswells plating kits, and I think my SBE would look sweet with a polished Bolt, and Lever. Possibly a trigger too! Also what type of metal are these parts made of? Steel Iron? This is an important question! It's gonna take some work, but I need to find out how to strip these parts to bare metal first. Any suggestions?
  23. Anybody know an aprox. amount a reputable gunsmith/gun fitter, would charge to fit you to your SBEII?
  24. I've got a nylon 66. I have shot this gun since I was 5 years old, I'm 26 now. This is still the most accurate gun I have ever shot. "open sights" They're pretty rare now days though, if you can find one. Pick it up!
