  1. I'm not a member of ESPN or NFL.... and i figured most people here might want to talk about it. Figured it wouldn't hurt. And apparently some people like it.
  2. You don't have to like it, but why waste your time putting in a negative comment??? I think that skill wise and strength wise, they are equal. But age is what's going to do Randy Couture in. I admire both of these guys because they are pure fighters, they fight to be the best, not for the money. And both have guts. But 10-15 years is a lot of age difference. No matter how skilled you are. Your body just can't last like it did. Vis-a-Vis "I'm Not As Good As I Once Was" - Toby Keith. So since there both great competitors and fighters, it's going to be tipped in Chuck Liddel's favor because he's just younger and has more stamina. No matter how long you train, stamina changes as you get older. So Chuck Liddell the winner it is.
  3. My two cents on who's going to Win Superbowl XL and UFC 57: Superbowl: Winner - Steelers UFC: (Liddell vs. Coutoure 3) Winner - Liddell That's all I've got to say about that.

    Recoil

SBE II / Comfortech - All the Way. My bro has an SBE I, and I have an SBE II, mine DOES have a softer recoil. I didn't think it really would, but it does. Plus every once and awile I reallly feel the kick from his shooting 3 1/2 inch shells. With mine I don't. That's all I can say about that.
  5. BLACK ALL THE WAY I have hunted many times and my gun has always been black. Never been a problem. My dad has always used a "GLOSSY" blued Remington 870 Wingmaster, and even that has never stopped him from killing birds. I'm talking about WATERFOULING, ducks and geese, obviously upland doesn't apply. CAMO - the one thing with camo that is also bad news is that some Camo guns have problems with "PEELING", because of manufacturing defects or sometimes other liquids like "DEET" and "OFF" can eat thru paint. So I would never buy a camo gun b/c of that. On the other hand, Benelli's have always been Blued in a crappy way it seems. But we have 5 Benelli's in our family and all are BLACK, from 4 years to know, never had ANY PROBLEMS with BLACK.
  6. I'm trying to see if anyone's used one and has a GOOD review. Has anyone used one of these???
  7. Gerbing's Heated Seat Cushion - For LAYDOWN BLINDS Has anyone used these???? What do you think??? Is it worth it?
  8. Gerbing's Heated Seat Cushion - For LAYDOWN BLINDS Has anyone used these???? What do you think??? Is it worth it?
  9. I may have to reconsider and go with Max4Gooser on this. I don't know anything about the "NEW" Remington 870's. But you could easily buy a "USED" one and be perfectly fine. Had a friend have problems with BOTH of his "MOSSBERG'S". They both had metal break on them in the action. So that's not good. I would NEVER buy a Mossberg after seeing TWO guns have the same problem.
  10. Cabela's makes nice wader's for a great price. And there return policy is great. My brother and I love our Cabela's SuperMags' 1600's. They work great. Had them for 3 years. I also like Hodgman's.
  11. WINCHESTER - OUT OF BUSINESS Out With A Bang The Loss of the Classic Winchester Is Loaded With Symbolism By Stephen Hunter Washington Post Staff Writer Friday, January 20, 2006; Page C01!" And now Winchester is gone too, or at least the most interesting parts of it. The traditional company whose symbol was a fringed rider flying across the plains on a pinto, gripping his trusty Model '73, is finally biting the dust. The entity -- now technically U.S. Repeating Arms, which produces the rifles and shotguns as a licensee of the Olin Corp., which still owns Winchester ammunition -- announced Monday it was closing the plant in New Haven where the rifles and shotguns have been fabricated for a century and a half. Some Winchesters will continue to be built overseas, but three guns -- the classic lever-action rifle of western fame, the bolt-action hunting rifle (called the Model 70) and the Model 1300 pump-action shotgun -- will no longer be manufactured.
  12. NEW HAVEN, Conn. – U.S. Repeating Arms Co. Inc. said Tuesday it will close its Winchester firearm factory, threatening the future of a rifle that was once called "The Gun that Won the West." "It's part of who we are as a nation just like it's part of who we are as a city," Mayor John DeStefano said. The announcement touched off a lobbying effort by city officials and union leaders who hoped to find a buyer for the plant before it closes March 31. If no buyer comes forward, it could spell the end for nearly all commercially produced Winchesters, said Everett Corey, a representative of the International Association of Machinists District 26. "Winchester would be pretty much defunct," he said. "They're not going to produce them, other than a couple custom-type models." The company has been plagued by slumping firearm sales. More than 19,000 people worked there during World War II, but the plant employs fewer than 200 now. The Winchester model 1873 lever action rifle was popular among American frontiersmen at the end of the 19th century for its reliability. John Wayne made the Winchester rifle a signature of his movies and Chuck Connors posed menacingly with his Winchester on the poster for the television series "The Rifleman." "Marlin made lever-action rifles but nobody ever had a Marlin in films or TV series. They were always Winchesters," said Ned Schwing, a firearms historian. Perhaps the company's greatest unofficial spokesman was President Teddy Roosevelt, who used the 1895 model on his famous 1909 African safari, which historians credited with boosting the sale of Winchester sporting rifles. Since the plant opened in 1866, tens of millions of Winchester rifles have been produced, the bulk of which came between the late 1800s and the end of World War II, said firearms historian R.L. Wilson, who has written books about Winchester. More than six million copies of the Winchester Model 94, the company's most popular rifle, have been produced. "Several generations have worked at this place, a lot of fathers and brothers, sons, uncles and daughters," said Paul DeMennato, facility director at U.S. Repeating Arms. U.S. Repeating Arms, which is owned by the Herstal Group, a Belgium company, has said for years that it was on the brink of closing the plant. DeMennato said the company is negotiating the plant's sale. Missouri-based Olin Corp. owns the Winchester brand name. In the late 1970s, after a massive strike by its machinists, Olin sold the plant to U.S. Repeating Arms along with the right to use the Winchester name until next year. Olin had no immediate word on its plans for the Winchester name. DeMennato said he hopes the name will be sold along with the plant. Nobody at Herstal's headquarters in Belgium could be reached Tuesday afternoon (I just saw this.)
  13. SAME PROBLEM - SMALL HANDS I had the same problem with my Benelli SBE II when I first shot it. BUT I have held it tight since then, and never had anymore problems. I don't wear gloves when I shoot. At least when it's warm out. So just hold it TIGHT and you should be ok.
  14. 870 Supermag - YES I've shot my friends Nova. My first shotgun was a Remington 870 .20 gauge, then a Remington 870 .12 gauge. I shoot a Benelli SBE II, but I'd choose a Remington 870 over any other pump gun. The Remington 870 is the BEST pump gun ever made. If you don't own an 870, you don't own a shotgun some say. Tell us what you buy and what you think about it after you shoot it.

    SBEII jamming

However, you are correct in saying it is not "Inertia Recoil" per se. Just parts of the Inertia System.

    SBEII jamming

Actually Incorrect The Benelli M4 S. 90 functions using the new ARGO Twin Operating System with rotating bolt head with dual locking lugs. Which is the SAME bolt head as the regular Benelli SBE I and SBE II.

    SBEII jamming

SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD PLAN. I would definitely try to fix the problems BEFORE you send it in. AND if that doesn't fix it, I would definitely send it in WAY before the season starts. I'm 5'3, 108lbs and I've never had a problem with my Benelli SBE II. My twin has never had any problems with his Benelli SBE I. My friend has a Benelli SBE II and he's 6'2, 214lbs. And he HAS HAD PROBLEMS. It was shouldering it. So what can I say. Go try it out and see what you think. I would try shouldering it right with the SAME AMMO you were when you had the ORIGINAL PROBLEMS, and see if shouldering it IS the problem, before you always have to shoot a certain ammo. Tell us how it goes. Good luck.

    SBEII jamming

BENELLI JAMMING PROBLEMS: NOT SHOULDERED CORRECTLY !!!!! The reason the Benelli jams and it's not a cleaning problem is because the shotgun has to BE SHOULDERED correctly, otherwise the INERTIA RECOIL OPERATION cannot work right. That is why the new M4 shotgun is both INERTIA RECOIL and GAS OPERATED is because when you add lots of weight, ie.... lights, sights, accessories, the Inertia Recoil cannot do it's job, so they made it GAS OPERATED too, as a backup. So shoulder the gun firmly and you shouldn't have that problem any more. Good Hunting. Tell us if this solves ur problem.
  19. PROPERLY SEAT YOUR RIFLE IN YOUR SHOULDER It is important to properly seat the rifle in your shoulder for the INTERIA RECOIL to work. Otherwise it can't work right. This is part of the reason the new M4 Shotgun is both INTERTIA and GAS OPERATED, you add lot of WEIGHT to the gun.....ie...lights, sights, accessories, and the shotgun absorbs too much recoil because it's too heavy. So try that out. I've shot my Benelli SBE II and never had any problems. My buddy did with his SBE II and my brother with his SBE I, and it was that same shouldering problem I think. But there both ok now, WITHOUT any cleaning or anything else. Good luck, tell us how it goes.

    Deer grunt

FLEXTONE The Flextone is the same call I use. It's really nice, but it's a little too quite sometimes. I also use a MAD POWERPUNCH when I need a LOUDER call.
  21. PULL AND TWIST/JIGGLE (OUT OF RECEIVER).
  22. Benelli SBE II Benelli SBE II - Black Matte - "26 inch barrel. This is the one I'd buy. Me, and 3 other people are I know all have the same gun....except 2 of them are older SBE's. We've had tons of hunts with them and never a problem. I thought rust might be a problem too....and I heard that the CAMO ones peeled. So I bought mine in BLACK MATTE. We've never had any problems with any of them. So that's what I'd go wtih.
  23. BENELLI SBE II No DOUBT, buy the Benelli SBE II. It is a lighter, nicer, easier on the shoulder, easier to clean gun. It's only like $100 bucks more, which is nothing in the course of a lifetime of ownership. We have 3 Benelli SBE II's and 2 Benelli SBE's in my family.....all love them. They are inertia operated....much better then gas...which is not only more work to clean...but more prone to jamming in bad weather, or if not cleaned properly. Most gas opertated guns are lighter recoil....except the Benelli. It is the lightest out there. The Beretta is heavier and more clumbsier.... I know that they are also fatter foreends...which was a pain...but apparently the new ones aren't as fat, because people complained. I've shot the original one...but not the new one. All I know is that Benelli's are the lightest, fastest, cleanest, and easiest on the shoulder....can't beat that. All of our Benelli's are 26" barrell's. We blind hunt for ducks and field hunt for pheasant in SD..... the "26 barrell is the best compromise for all hunting conditions. We all have BLACK MATTE, because of problems with the CAMO ones. Good Hunting. Tell us what you buy.
