  1. The amount of improvement varied from rifle to rifle. Most showed some sort of accuracy improvement. The few that didn't, remained the same. I've never had one go down hill from being cryo'ed.
  2. I've had several precision rifles cryo'ed over the years by 300 Below.
  3. I tried to access their website and something's wrong. Their phone number is (949) 642-3337 Their stuff is great: http://www.benelliusa.com/forums/ultimatebb.php/topic/1/3642.html#000000 [ 10-30-2006, 02:39 PM: Message edited by: cmshoot ]
  4. I would keep it mounted low and forget about trying to look under for the irons. Since it isn't a tactical set up, keep whatever tool you will need to remove the sight with you at all times. If it goes out on you while hunting, just remove it. You could use a QD ring system for it. I do believe that IOR markets some 35mm QD rings. In regards to what type of ammo to use, if your barrel is fully rifled I would recommend the Winchester Supreme Partition Gold High Velocity Slug and Winchester Supreme Platinum Tip Hollow Point Sabot Slugs. I've seen 'em both in action on Ohio deer and they really did a number. I've heard good things about the Hornady SST Sabots and the Remington Copper Solid Sabots, but I've never used either. If you're using a smoothbore barrel, I like the Fiocchi Aero-Slug. [ 10-30-2006, 12:39 PM: Message edited by: cmshoot ]
  5. I T&E'ed a Burris XTS-135 Xtreme Tactical SpeedDot recently. It worked flawlessly on the 3 weapons I tried it on: Springfield Armory SOCOM 16, Rock River Arms 16" AR, and Remington 1100 12 gauge. Never failed and always held zero. In appearance, the Xtreme model looks quite a bit different than the standard 135, but I'm not sure what the internal differences are, if any.
  6. When I carried one on a SWAT Team for several years, I used standard Remington green-hulled 00 buck and 1 oz. slugs. My particular M1 Entry functioned just fine with Reduced Recoil slugs, but had spotty reliability with Reduced Recoil buck (although several of the Entries issued to other members worked just fine with Reduced Recoil). Our SOP at the time was standard loads only for the M1's, just to be sure. I was training with my old SWAT Team recently and they are currently using Remington Tac 8 00 buck for the M1's now. It's a standard load, but with 8 pellets instead of 9. Functions great in the Entries and also in my 18.5" M2 Tactical. [ 10-29-2006, 01:13 PM: Message edited by: cmshoot ]
  7. I ordered a 6-shot Picatinny Rail/Sure Shell shell holder from Mesa Tactical on 10/11/06. They're in California and I'm in Georgia. I received it today, 10/13/06. Outstanding! I'm very impressed with the quality of the product, but what impressed me most was the last section of the instructions that came with it. In the last section is a sentence that is separated from the rest and in bold highlights. It reads: " Any operator switching from a less robust shell holder to the Mesa Tactical SureShell and Rail for a Benelli M2 Tactical and Benelli M4/M1014 must train with the new system before using the weapon in a duty situation " As a long time operator and Firearms/Tactics Instructor (military, local LE and Federal LE), this is friggin' outstanding! This just proves that the folks at Mesa Tactical know what the heck they're talking about. It's refreshing to deal with a company with this level of professionalism, instead of a bunch of engineers or bean counters. I've stressed the importance of being familiar with your equipment to my students my entire career. I would never put a new piece of gear or make a mod to any of my equipment unless I had ample time immediately following to train with it. And yes, even though this isn't a duty weapon, just a personal "toy", I immediately stepped onto the range and ran about 75 rounds though my M2 with the SureShell on it, loading from the shell holder. I heartily recommend Mesa Tactical to everyone who needs something they have. [ 10-13-2006, 07:19 PM: Message edited by: cmshoot ]
  8. I used the N-cell version for several years, with a GG&G QD mount. I had one on my issued SMG and one on my personal M4. Great set up. The sight is excellent and I really like the GG&G mount.
  9. A big "Thank You" to tucker301. I used the Cabela's coupon to put towards a 2-piece insulated outfit (bibs and hooded coat) for my annual deer-hunting trip to SE Ohio. I'm a big fan of anyone who saves me $!
  10. If it functions reliably, it has definite applications for run-and-gun matches, which is what the designers made it for, judging by their bios. As someone who has had to reload an 8-shot Rem870 while taking incoming rounds, I'm here to tell ya I wouldn't have minded a 24-round capacity!
  11. garrett, mine is right at 8.5" OAL Did they maybe send you the 8+1 model instead of the 7+1 model? These extensions get confusing. Depending on what company makes/sells it, the full length extension tube for my 18.5" M2 Tactical was called an 8-shot, a 4-shot, or a 7-shot. Some count the total capacity, some count the added capacity, and some count the capacity in the magazine only.
  12. They don't list any on their website. http://www.davesmetalworks.com/
  13. Ran just over 100 rounds through my M2 Tactical with the DMW 7+1 Magazine tube extension. Ran like a champ, absolutely no malfunctions of any kind. I am also running a DMW Large Bolt Handle on my M2.
  14. Shooter's Connection is great to deal with. I ordered the part around noonish on Tuesday and received it today, Thursday (along with some other stuff I ordered from them). Great looking part, and it comes with a red anodized aluminum follower to replace the red plastic one. The DMW extension tube is steel. It doesn't match the old tube, but it matches the finish on the barrel perfectly. I'll be shooting it tomorrow, I'll let y'all know how she does.
  15. Here's the one that I just ordered for my M2 Tactical: http://shootersconnection.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=123&products_id=608 I'll let you know how it works when I get it in. It looks to be a pretty good replica of the Benelli extension tube, down to the 2-part design (unlike the Tac Star and SRM). I've used several of DMW's shotgun parts over the years and have found them all to be top notch.
  16. I like it. If you ran one of those with a Mesa Tactical saddle shell carrier, you could put 00 Buck in one carrier and slugs in the other (or whatever your favorite party mix is). Keeps 'em separated and you know where they are.
  17. I just ordered one of the DMW extension tubes this morning. Got a decent discount with my FFL. I'll let y'all know how she works out.
  18. I found these http://shootersconnection.com/store/index.php?cPath=123 They screw into the factory threaded forend cap and aren't a replacement 1-piece unit like the SRM and Tac Star. Price is nice also. I'm going to call tomorrow and see what kind of price I can get with my FFL. I own other parts done by DMW and they are very nice.
  19. No joy at Cal's! http://www.calssportingarmory.com/BenelliMagExtensions.htm
  20. Can't find a factory 4-shot extension for my new M2 Tactical anywhere. I have an FFL, but can't find one. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it. If someone has one for sale/trade, I'll pay cash if the price is right, and I also have lots of firearms, knives and accessories for trade. I've found the SRM Performance and the Tac Star models, but would prefer the factory tube. I like the forward sling swivel system on the factory set up better. Has anyone here tried the SRM or the Tac Star set up? How did they work for you? I ran a Tac Star on a Rem1100 I set up for 3-gun matches and never had a problem with it. Semper Fi!
