    M2 break in

I hear what you are saying K4DV the characteristics of the recoil from a Benelli are different to a gas gun such as a Beretta. For a given load the recoil is identical in energy, this being the equal and opposite reaction to the pellets exiting in the other direction. The inertia system however delivers the "reaction" more abruptly compared to the gas cycling systems but the energy involved is the same - you can't destroy energy. I shoot a L/H M2 and I gave it to a friend to try last weekend, he shoots R/H. He put about 10 shells through and gave me it back saying it was the most recoil he has ever felt. He has shot my O/U and my 1910 Westley-Richards S/S in the past. I don't think it is that bad but the L/H stock is set up for me. Which is why I said gun fitting does make a difference. Most guns you can shoot straight out of the box, even if they don't fit you and they'll be OK, the Benelli semi-auto isn't one of them. photopro P.S. Only $1,000 ?? My M2 cost me £850 and at nearly $2=£1 that's about $1,700 !!
  2. I have emailed Gray Loon again and requested a less aggressive stance on the filtering. Some words such as (0ck should be allowed if used in the correct context. Day to day monitoring by moderators is the only practical way to do this not by a blanket ban. It works on other sites why not this one? Is it widely known that US Benelli owners are of a delicate disposition photopro

    M2 break in

250 shells on my M2 is cycling without problem, now I've established what shells it doesn't like - Gamebore. The felt recoil can be reduced by making sure the gun is correctly fitted, in any case it isn't any worse than a 12g O/U or traditional S/S. photopro
  5. I emailed "Gray Loon" at the company who put the website together he sent me this reply: When we imported the old forum data into the new forum, filters were mistakenly adjusted. I have corrected this behavior, so shells will not become s****s. Also, some forum members may take offense to the use of “****.” I said I disagreed with his opinion on the "he11" word, I would hope we are all a little more thick skinned than to take offence at that. In any case filters should remove some of the word but at least present a guessable clue as to what it was, i.e. H**l rather than **** !! photopro
  6. I have also emailed Benelli regarding this. If enough members send emails they will soon sort it out I'm sure. photopro
  7. Why has nothing been done about the over aggressive filtering? Do we really have to resort to she11s, sheIIs or she]]s simply because the word contains the opposite of heaven? Was the programer a radical Amish ?? Seriously if you can't resolve it I am prepared to do it for you. photopro (Administrator http://www.hunterworld.co.uk)
  8. Quote: The SBEII is also much easier to clean the M2, because the receiver comes in half with the top half being the barrel extension. Much easier to clean doesn't make the M2 difficult though does it? It can be a bit misleading for someone not familiar with either reading that statement. We are fans of both really aren't we Tucker ?? photopro
  9. I posted this on another Benelli forum a few weeks ago, I do think most of the cycling issues relating to ANY semi-auto are cartridge based. For the record the load on all the shells in question was 32g or 1 1/8 oz photopro
  10. I know this sounds obvious but I have been through this with my M2, cleaning, polishing, oiling, smoothing edges finally sending back to Benelli. All to no avail - it was the cartridges it didn't like. A UK brand called "Gamebore". Changed 'em, fixed it, 'nuff said. photopro

    Trouble W/ SBE

Hello guys I've been reading your posts for some time - now I've joined you ! I have an M2 which has given me the symptoms I have been reading in this thread. I tried several fixes, polishing the receiver, checking for burrs on machined faces and eventually sending back to Benelli. The gun is now working a dream - what did they do ? Nothing, well not quite, it appears that like most other semi-autos Benelli's don't like certain cartridges. I don't mean the load or the length but the brand. I had bought a popular UK cartridge Gamebore, and Benellis don't seem to like them. This was verified by Benelli UK and since then after returning the shells and exchanging for another (Eley) brand the gun is faultless. Now I'm not saying all of the folks will have the same problem but now that you are aware it wouldn't harm to check your shells first would it ?
