Having trouble finding a mount for my SN TAC... I already have a shell holder so no need for a Mesa Tactical mount. I just want a solid Rail. EGW makes one but i don't know how well they are rated. Sell for 30$. Keep your eyes peeled for me. -Nick

Even if you had to defend yourself, say if you were deer hunting and a bear trotted by and tried to give you a run for your money, put one slug in it and i'm not sure it live for very long. If it did come back for another helping put 1 or 2 more in it and it would drop like a ton of bricks.

I was told that bear guides in Alaska don't have rifles, they carry 12 gauge shotguns with slugs.

How powerful do YOU think a slug is? I use slugs on White Tail Deer and they are plenty powerful. What do you think they are capable of taking down?

Nah, 7.62X54R. -Realistically, if someone broke into my house, i would go with 00. Or make it really ugly and get some 000.

I would say max 60 yards with slugs. I bought it at a gander mountain, all i got was the gun nothing more, no Benelli box that it came in, just the gun with a tube plug in it for bird hunting. They put it in a skinny cardboard box and off i went. Can i still buy shims separate?

Rifled Federal 3" Mag. Scratch that, if it was a slug gun give me Rem 3" CopperSolids.

I realized that the rifle sights on my SN Tac. aren't adjustable and i wanted to be able to use slugs through it ( i know i can but with accuracy) I'd rather not kick out the 100 bucks for ghost ring, but if i have to i will. Well, the question is, is it gunna be a scattergun, or actually halfway decent? Being that i'm stuck with the sights unless i fork over some $$$.

The R-1 truly is a masterpiece isn't it? It's visually stunning and from the sounds of it, shoots as good as it looks. My only Rifle is a Russian Bolt-Action from WW2 but it gets the job done.

Yea, i thought that was the capacity for 2 3/4. but i will most likely only be using 3", so would that make it 3+1 for 3"?

Turns out there was a plug in it preventing me from putting the max amount of shells in there. Isn't that a little odd to find in an HD / Tactical shotgun?

As you all know by now, i have a SN tactical and was curious as to how many shells it will hold of 3" and 3 1/2"? Being that it is a 4+1 that is only for 2 3/4", correct?

Is this unusual? All i ever see on them is the Ghost Ring.

Being that it is drilled and tapped, the holes for scope rings or a rail have the screws/plugs in them, and i was curious as to how they are removed? do you have to disassemble part of the gun? -Thanks again.

I recently purchased this model and was wondering, is it safe to put slugs through this gun? If not, What is needed to do so? Thanks to anyone who can help me. I would be using it for deer hunting, the deer generally aren't too far away and the brush is thick so it is perfect size, just need to know if rifled slugs are okay to use in it, or what type of slug i CAN use in it.
