  1. The black anodizing will "fade" to a blue, gray, or even a purple color when exposed to the elements, especially bright sunlight. We used to see the exact same thing on the anodized scope tubes on sniper scopes in Vietnam, some of them turned out with Exactly the same color as shown in your picture.
  2. What is your "first" gun? Then we may be able to make suggestions. What will it be used for?
  3. Check with Benelli Customer Service. If they don't have a LEO/Military discount program, there are a lot of dealers that do. You just have to shop around.
  4. Where can I obtain a bayonet lug for the M-3 S-90 with the +2 Benelli magazine extension. I saw one for a Remington 870 on TACTICALSHOTGUNNER.COM. but they don't list one for any other make. Is there one available for Benellis?
  5. As for the "field stock" on a LEO gun. If it was a "cruiser" gun, mounted in a rack in a car, and not for SWAT use, it would more than likely have had a "field stock". I've been a LEO for just shy of 20 years, and have never seen a "Tactical" or "pistol grip" stock mounted in a cruiser. They're just not "Politically Correct" enough, and they "alarm the public".
  6. As long as the barrel is fully seated, (no silver color from the barrel/receiver area of the barrel showing forward of the end of the receiver) and the bolt is fully in battery (locking lugs on the bolt locked into the cutouts in the barrel) your ready to shoot.
  7. The actual bolt rides in a bolt carrier. It looks like a "cover" but it isn't. Your gun should look like the picture posted above. In that picture the bolt is closed completely, and locked. If you look real close at yours, as you ease the bolt assembly forward you will see the head of the bolt rotate and lock into slots in the barrel. The bolt doe's close all the way, but since the "bolt" rides in a "carrier", it only appears to have excess play in it.
  8. Here you go,http://www.gunbroker.com/ if not a member you can sign up and be on line pretty quickly.
  9. 10-4, that's possible. There is about a 1/4 inch gap between the bolt carrier and the end of the ejection port opening. Finally got pic to load. You can see the gap at the front of the bolt carrier, where you can see the bolt head inside the receiver. This is a normal view, with the bolt closed and locked. Hope this helps.
  10. Can you post a pic? I'm not sure what you mean by "ejection/breach cover". My "03" manufactured M-3 doesen't have one, and the parts diagram doesn't show one.
  11. The reason people tell you not to use WD-40 on guns, is that it is a penetrating oil. If it leaves residue in a magazine, it can penetrate into the cartridges.
  12. I've had good luck with either 3in1 oil, or WD-40, applied liberally, then rubbed down (LIGHTLY) with 4-0 steel wool. Try it on a hidden area first, as I have seen some firearms that had such a thin blue that it would remove the blue. I obtained a Pre-64 Model 94 Winchester that the owner said was "junk" that was covered with surface rust. An hour with oil and 4/0 and it was like new. Hope this helps.
  13. 2 or 3 rubber "O" rings around the dowel rod will keep it from rattling inside the tube.
  14. That's it, I remember it came in a can of a roll of about 25, or 50' really good stuff. Thanks.
  15. That stuff has been around for at least 40 years. We used it in the military. I have never seen it commercially available though. Where can I get some? Thanks.
  16. VERY FIRST THING!!!!!!Contact the ammo manufacturer, with the lot number of the boxes of the ammo you were using. In cases such as this, there may be other complaints besides yours, due to production line problems, such as the shot filling function, failing to fill the cup. I bought three boxes of .357 mag. ammo, all from the same lot that were not filled with powder when assembled at the factory. Upon contacting the factory, I returned the 3 boxes, received apoligies, and a case of new .357 ammo. In my case, there was no damage, and no one was hurt. They may pay for a new barrel for you, it wouldn't hurt to try, (also check for recalls on that lot number).

    M3 Questions

M-3's are beside the point, HR1022 is a fact, (GOOGLE HR1022) and in place waiting to be passed, and it WILL be with DEM's in power. Read the part on "our beloved rifles" the part on "threaded barrels", not just "threaded muzzles". All of a sudden, our hunting rifles with a barrel that may be "threaded" to accept sights, can be outlawed. SCARY!!!!!!!!
  18. First thing to try is the washer / spacer in the front hole of the stock, as you are looking at the FRONT hole in the stock. I have noticed that there are two different spacers. Try popping the old one out of your old stock, and fitting it in your new stock first. When I changed stocks on mine, it left a gap, and that is how I had to fix it. Hope this helps.
  19. Figured out the P-Bucket Idea!! Thanks.
  20. Both the factory manual, and the "photocopy" they sent me are basically the same. Both show screw on caps. But, in the end (muzzle end) of the magazine tube, there is a part that is actually part of the "limiter" system, to limit the number of shells in the mag. Carefully depress that part down into the magazine tube, as if removing the "limiter", and turn it to an angle, and see if the spring, and limiter won't slip out. Mine comes out that way, even with out un-screwing anything. CAREFUL, it's under a lot of pressure. The only other idea, would be to unscrew the tube from the receiver. Hopes this helps. GENELEO (Sorry, the pic wouldn't copy).
  21. Send me your E-Mail address, (I've tried to attach items here before, and couldn't get it to work) and I'll send what pages I can from the manual that Benelli sent me (actually a photocopy, can you believe it?), It comes out basically the same as a Remington 870/1100/1187, even including hitting you right in the eye!! If it has a "limiter" it is a little more complicated.
  22. Check page 10, listed by GENELEO. Maybe this will help.
  23. By M-3 Tactical, you are refering to the "folding' (Tactical) stock?
