  1. Just a quick question for all of you. What size shot and choke do you use for pheasant? I had my first experience with pen raised birds yesterday using number 8's and a modified choke and i couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. i don't think any of the shots i took were over 25 yds. any help/suggestions? bigger shot? different choke?
  2. I can tell you this being a new SBE II owner and left handed as well. Though I have never shot the M2 (or used one) the SBE very user friendly, light, easy to load/unload (i'm new to semi-auto's), clean, versatile, etc. I can't picture myself buying a new shotgun or using another one til this one dies out on me and we all know how these guns last.
  3. I e-mailed benelli about shooting slugs out of my SBE II and they told me to use cylinder. my opinion e-mail them and ask. you will get a pretty quick reply for sure, unlike winchester who will send you an auto reply, hence the reason I bought a benelli and not a winchester
  4. you have to have the pic saved on like photobucket or a site like that and simply click the insert image option above and copy/paste your photo address to the photo there.
  5. correct me if i'm wrong but isn't that Charlton Heston's gun vault?
  6. Benelli SBE II 28" barrel Marlin model 336 30/30 with bushnell 3-9 Savage model 10 .308 Henry .22 Ithaca model 37 16 ga
  7. I e-mailed benelli regarding this and the reply they gave me was use rifles slugs and the #5 choke i think it's the skeet/cylinder
  8. I opened the butt end of the gun today to give the different shims a try (to see which is a better fit for me) I believe that the Z's were initally in the gun. I don't remember if it was set up for right hnd or left. i was to focused on making sure that I followed the steps in my manual correctly so i didn't lose any hardware or put it back incorrectly. after testing them I found that the C shims worked the best for me. when shouldering the gun it seemed as the the front and rear bead almost lined up perfectly and i was "down in the sight" a bit more. i'm going to take the gun out to shoot tomorrow and see how it works out. Tucker301, you made a good point to me which i forgot about, which is aiming below the target (6 o'clock). I was told to do this when i went through my hunters safety course a long time ago and with how much I have been using a rifle where it has been put it where to want the bullet to hit, I've forgot about that tiny piece of information. thanks for all of your input guys, i will let you know how it works out.
  9. I was at a 50yd. rifle range using a gun vise. i was easily 4-6" high. i thought it was me to. I didn't have a problem with my .308. I had both beads lined up and steadyed before i pulled the trigger
  10. so I took my SBE out for some target practice today. It's shooting high and to the right. does anyone know which shims should be used and how much each shim will change(lower) the shot?
