  1. I like the RMR (powered version) and have been considering one for my M4 for quite some time. I don't have a MR1 so I don't know if you can coax some lower field cowitness out of an RMR or not. Looking at the pics of the rifle, I doubt you would with the 512. I run a 516 with a FTS 3x magnifier on one of my ARs though and love it.

    here's a pic:

  2. Hey Duggan,

Yeah... The top one was nice for 1998 when I bought it but I really haven't done anything to it since.

I have a light setup for the LMT setup with a pressure pad in a TangoDown grip but I got tired of having the VFG on there. I'll pick up one of the rail covers with the pad insert one of these days. I stuck some Troy tritiums on the LMT upper since I took the pick too.

  3. Why don't they make a dedicated fore end weapon light to replace the factory hand guard? I currently run the M80, but wish Surefire made one like the M1/2...

    Thoughts...?

It would be sweet.....I'd order one in a hot second

A fun drill (only allowed if you are at a real range :)) is to have one round of skeet loaded in the chamber followed by a slug in the tube. Have a buddy throw a clay for you and take it out with the trap load or birdshot of your choice then use the slug to hit any target from 50-100 yards (I use a 32oz gatorade bottle at 100 yards). I fill the tube 8+1 alternating between bird shot and slugs and go from clay to bottle, clay to bottle until the tube is empty. This will really improve your ability to get the sight picture fast, and on target.

    Hey Stompy,

    Your drill sounds like fun!

I'm going to give that one a try

  5. I have already put the barrels on the oposite guns and put shells in the and unloaded them and they seem to work just wasnt sure about firing them so i guess i will change them back.:(

I've always heard from folks here that they don't interchange and I've never seen barrels advertised as fitting both. I haven't tried it, I have a M1 and a M4. If it seemed like a good fit maybe it would work but you might want to e-mail Benelli to confirm.

  6. Have you experimented much patterning with other types of chokes (Briley for example) and different loads in the M1?

You'll probably see a lot of variations when you change things up and you'll probably find a combination that patterns the way you want (like the M2)
