  1. I would think that if you do the normal bolt disassembly like in your manual that you hould be able to get the locking head pin out after you remove the firing pin. if there's still a piece of it down in the hole, maybe it'll just shake out or can be easily coaxed out.

  2. Little Man looks like a good boy. I hope he understands that he needs to guard your collection when you're out of the house and not be bought off by burglers with doggie treats. MMMMMMMMmmmmmm.....doggie treats :)

  3. Scrap that last plan, I looked a little further and ammo-to-go.com sells it in 25rd. increments as well, so I ordered 75rds to play with. I'll post my thoughts on it after I get a chance to shoot some of it and see how it patterns :)

  4. Thanks for the reply Tinman, that price is more realistic. I might pick up a 5rd. box on Thusday when I pick up my Socom and try some out. If I like the pattern, maybe I'll order the 250 rds. from ammunitiontogo.

  5. I use a Specter Gear sling on most of my long arms. I just ordered another one today for my new Socom 16. Here's a link to their Benelli sling.

The one in the link is 1 1/4" wide and has a 1" loop attachment point that secures to the stock. I use their buttstock shell carrier/rear sling adapter though so I use that as the stock end attachment point. It's seen here:

and you can use the sling rear adapter without the shell carrier portion if you want.

  6. Hey Flame Red, I have a EO tech w/3x FTS magnifier too, on one of my ARs. I've been thinking about a few options for SOCOM optics. Since I'm in CA I can't go to an aftermarket stock w/rails if it has a pistol grip so I'd have to use the small handguard rail or get something like the standard scope mount that Springfield Armory sells. I was thinking that this Trijicon RMR that I'd been considering for my Benelli might go well on the handguard mount but we'll see. I may just stick with the irons.

If you can post a pic of yours with the ACOG on it once you get your parts and get it all together, I'd love to see it and hear how you like that combination.

  7. I just wish they were legal in the stupid state where I live (CA)

    Hey Steve,

Before you do put a full length tube on your M4. (you got a great deal BTW) Just in case you're not aware, although they are legal under CA law (I'm in CA too) There is a federal law (922r) that prohibits putting on unless you take steps to reduce the amount of specific imported parts that comprise your Benelli. There's a lot of posts regarding it here in MeanGreens' thread:

Some people choose to worry about it, others choose not to. Just wanted to make sure you're aware so you can deal with it as you see fit. That being said, If all is as Kip said....my tube should ship by Monday!!!!!:D

  8. Hi Steve,

If you're asking about the price of the Surefire M80 forend they run about $230. The part of my M4 that you see the light attached to in the pictures is a Sidearmor rail. which run $329. The Streamlight TLR-1 that I use is low profile.

If you use the site search for "Sidearmor" you'll find multiple previous threads with lots of info and pictures. Here's a few:

  9. Hey All,

I got my contact e-mail from Kip today. It stated that my original order had been cancelled and if I was still interested I should re-submit the order and note the original invoice info in the comment section to keep my place in line. It also said that it should ship within 7 days.

As you guys probably know by now from my occasional whining I ordered the day after the cutoff date so for all of you "after the cutoff" guys, I think this is a good sign.

  10. For myself, I find the M80 slightly more comfortable. I believe because the side rails on the M80 ride lower down on the side so my hand is more in contact with whatever rail covering is used. The KZ side rails are higher so only my fingertips and thumb come in contact with an ergonomic covering. Really though, that's just me and the difference is only a few steps above negligible. I could easily deal with either one but the stock grips still rate #1. I gather from your post you have/had some involvement with Mesa R&D?

    Tell us more!

  11. That's pretty!! When you want to post a picture use the icon that looks like the 7th icon from the left on the quick reply box below under the word: message. If it asks to temporarily allow pop ups click yes then hit the icon again. That should open a window where you can paste the address of where you have the image posted. Hope that helps!
