  1. That's crazy. That ammo is the official type (9mm, .40, .45 ACP) for my agency. We have been waiting seven months to get our shipment in for issue to the troops. Still waiting...... If we cant get it, Law Abiding Citizens are even further down the list.

Go to Ombexpress.com they will send it out right away if you are part of law enforcement. They have the best prices and do large orders.

  2. wouldnt a lab make more sense? im not saying that just couse I have one

A Doberman is a Working Dog, They can be taught to do just about anything and make great hunting companions. They did use german short haired pointers and weimerainers in their creation among other hunting dogs. Not to Mention they are the Official Dog of the United States Marine Corps, so they apply to all you HD shotgun owners as well.:D

Labs would do if we were only talking wing shooting....But labs are cool too!

  3. You are lucky as here in Massachusetts we are at the mercy of the state to stock the pheasants. There is almost no native population of pheasant or quail. We do have turkeys up the butt though. Just yesterday there were over 20 walking around in my backyard. They are so thick that people are running them over on the streets in highly populated areas.

You can thank New York's Turkey Program for that. Good Turkey Hunting is what its all about..except when your talking about upland.:D

  4. The ONLY thing extended choke tubes do any better or differently than flush choke tubes is to allow them to be more easily removed and installed.

    That's it.

    Nothing else.

    Plus they look cooler.

Nothing else....are you sure about that. Seems like an extended choke was designed for more than ease and aesthetic purposes, but hey I'm not the engineer behind there designs. Seems like there may be more to it than you think. Email Carlson's chokes (Or your favorite company) and ask them...I am sure they have more reasons for you.

  5. Probably done for now...so here is what I have:

    H&K 12 ga. M1 Super 90 Field

Montefeltro 12 ga. (new in box...would entertain a trade for a 20 ga)

    Legacy 12 ga.

Three sons...so there should not be any arguing if anything happened to me...

Here is my question about the Legacy. I believe mine is older than most. I will check with Benelli on Monday. It has scroll engraving and a step down lower receiver. I believe it is a 99-01 model. May have paid a little too much for it based on age, but it is very nice. Plus I don't mind paying for what I want regardless of a listed value. I will get some pics tomorrow and post them.

Looking forward to seeing your pics. I will say there could still be some arguing between sons if they are into Benelli as much as the rest of us! :)

  6. Believe me I was angry when some of the people who were considered "first response" and can buy the ammo are:

    Fire (including volunteer)

    Campus Security

    Corporate Security

    Private Security

    Coroner

    Airline Pilot

That really got me livid....to say the least!

  7. ITS JUST PLAIN STUPID!!!! THEYVE BEEN SELLING THOSE ROUNDS TO REGULAR OLE CIVILIANS ALL THIS TIME, AND NOW THEY WANT TO LIMIT THEM TO LEO OR MILITARY??? JUST PLAIN BULLSH-T!!!!!

Yeah, I emailed Winchester and they said that they just can't produce enough for law enforcement and civilians especially with all the hording of ammo that has been occurring causing shortages everywhere. It ticks me off too but I can see where they are coming from. There are no legal regulations, they just put the regulations on dealers that sell the T series ammo, and dedicated dealers are complying with the supplier so they don't loose them.

  8. We discussed the Ra45T rounds a few months back and I was given a link to OMB Express. Winchester has now put regulations on the rounds and now you need to be active duty law enforcement to order them. I was denied a purchase and have appealed it but the responses from ombexpress.com don't look promising.

Will anyone part with a box or two if they bought a surplus? It would be greatly appreciated! I would rather not have to go to the other sites that are selling them for a lot or require multiple box purchases (at a high price as well) plus expensive shipping. The other option is I buy a case through my dealer but I don't want to buy 1000 rounds (Just want a box for self defense and one for my collection of Black Talons- I have the Original Black Talons in 9mm!) Thanks in Advance!

  9. I am planning to go to New York in a few weeks. Anyone have a lead as to where a good place would be to pick up one of the rifled barrels in advantage timber.

Like most of us, price is always the decision maker.

    Bill

What gun do you want the slug barrel for?

  10. I'd opt for an Italian girl like Monica Bellucci, but your bull dog is nice too.

I agree with StrangerDanger on the hot Italian but I thought my dog was the mascot.

Ziggy Benelli, AKC Reg, #1 of 10, no tattoos cause he is in MINT CONDITION.

  11. Sluggers give me very tight groups. At 50 yards they will keep everything in the 9 ring on a 100 yard slow fire target. That is off the bench, and when offhand they will stay within an 8" circle (me being the problem) not the gun. I would easily go for 100 yard shots if braced up, again me being the problem. I find that everything I have used doesn't give much better groups than Sluggers. Not being a rifled barrel that may be why, but then again it is good enough for me. Don't know if it will take out a deer this year as the M2 is new this year. I had used an 870 for the past 25 years with good results, most years taking a deer, but didn't like of just got tired of a pump gun.

Oh, did forget to say that after spending 5 years hunting in Alaska (lived there) and a few times in Africa that I only use a slug gun because MA requires it. I don't believe in taking on much besides deer, and never anything that bites back with a slug. I have seen them fail big time, and multiple times, with brown bear in Alaska.

So have fun hunting and maybe you will find a slug and gun combination that pleases you.

You shoot a Remington with Remington Sluggers. I have a SuperNova with Black Magics. Here is a fun little shot test at 30 feet, my brother shooting his Remington 887 with Sluggers and me shooting my SuperNova with Black Magics. He scalped the dude, I pretty much put it through the same hole. Free Standing shots but an example of the great results I have been getting from this setup. No comparison, just some fun competition between brothers that applies to this late topic from this weekend. He only took one shot, cause he ran out of slugs, but I took two. I will update these photos to show up here tomorrow after work but for now here are the links.

  12. I shoot the Remington Nitro Express Turkey loads. These loads are awsome in my 870 shotgun. Good luck turkey hunting.

I am a big fan of Nitro Express in most applications, Great shot shells. Just wanted the tightest patterns, and here we are trying to post pattern tests of the endless possible ammo choices through different combos of guns and chokes. Glad you found an ammo that you get great consistent results from. Post a Pattern Test if you get a chance so we can see how tight they are and people can see the potential and if it is an ammo they would like to use this season. Good Luck.

    Happy Hunting and be Safe!:D

  13. Re-Tested the Federal Mag-Shok Heavyweights #5 1-7/8 oz 3.5" through a full choke instead of the Carlson's Extended Ported Turkey Choke as Trapshooter suggested and got much better results. Only shot at 25 yards and hit a little high but I got a much denser pattern and I am looking forwards to this coming Saturday as that is our Opening Turkey Day. Thanks Trapshooter, the switch up realy did change the performance of the FC Wad!

  14. Lets put a scenario in this thread to play Devil's Advocate: Up here in Maine I can hunt Bear right now, so I am out Upland Hunting with an IC choke but as we move through the forest we come upon a Bear. I always carry a slug or two on me in case of these circumstances because this does happen up here. The versatility of the smooth bore with the IC choke allows me to pop out my #6 with the handy button on the SuperNova that allows me to eject one shell without loading the next one in the magazine and insert the slug (in this case one of my 600 Gr Black Magics) and I now have the opportunity and pleasure of harvesting a Maine Black Bear along with the woodcock and partridge all with one barrel and one choke.....Just a thought, but for me if I am hunting open territory I hunt with my rifle, not my shotgun, because I will get extremely better groups and results with a rifle at long ranges of 150-200 yards or more then with a slug gun.

Yay for Options! But to get back to the Thread's Topic, I still recommend getting a SuperNova, its my favorite pump shotgun that I have ever shot.

    Happy Hunting!

  15. I just use cheap Remington Sluggers in my M2 tactical with ghost ring sight and have no problem with 75-100 yard shots. This is a smooth bore barrel too. Great gun and in Mass we almost never get shots beyond 50 yards anyway.

Is this your best combo as the thread asks or is it just what you use? Have you tested the many brands of slugs out of your gun to see what works best or just bought the cheapos (cause we all know you can kill a deer with a $2 box of ammo) and what kind of groups do you get at the 50 yard shots you take on deer or any other game you hunt with slugs? Just a question so please don't get defensive. Thanks.

  16. I just checked out that Brenneke site. I got some good info. I wonder if they're available up here... I know we have federal, Remington and Winchester.... I'll look forward to shopping for these when the time comes! I'm sure I'll have a new round of questions for you guys by then!! LOL!

    thanks

Brenneke is a German Company so I doubt they sell to the US only. Even if that were the case there are plenty of sites that sell hunting supplies to Canada. Best of Luck!
