  1. yeah, that's germany. if you get caught having a weapon light only laying around your house, they'll take your guns away, and you won't get a permission to buy one ever again. the gun lobby doesn't have much influence here, unfortunately. and when some crazy kid decides to run amok with his fathers gun, the laws get even more restrictive.
  2. ROFL! great pic! actually i would need to hide those lights and laser before i get out of my house with the gun. possession of any sort of weapon-light is completely forbidden in germany. i just hate those stupid laws, that's why i don't really care. i think it's a must have for a HD and tactical gun to have a light (and laser). i did notice the price tag on the DBAL, but it's the only combo of laser/IR laser i found. i would gladly take something cheaper.
  3. hey, when did you steal my idea? i know, you need a LE agency. how do they check if my LE agency (given i come up with a private agency) really exists? isn't there a way to fake such an ID? btw i tought IR illuminators are prohibited as well? because the surefire millenium 95270 doesn't say anything about a LE only, and it does feature IR light.
  4. that looks impressive! guess i'll be waiting for that one. is there a laser/IR laser combo out there? i don't necessarily want to go with the huge laser devices thing, if the surefire already features IR illumination. of course i want to use a remote switch.
  5. really? should try that out when i'm home, didn't know that. but i guess hes talking about tritium, right?
  6. yep, it's nothing fancy or gen3+, but it gets the job done. i imagine it would be awesome to use it in complete darkness, at least for the intruder, while you have the IR light and laser. you have a link to the M720? didn't see it on the surefire homepage.
  7. actually NO m4 has night sights factory installed. they are ALL aftermarket solutions. only meprolight makes them specifically for the M4, though only in green tritium. i'm planning to get my OEM sights to tooltech gunsight, they will machine them to fit Trijicon bright & tough night sights, with white housing for better daytime shooting.
  8. hi guys, as you may know, i've been doing some research in the forums and on the web for a light/laser combo for my m4. i came to the conclusion that there isn't a really good combo of light/laser for a large gun, so what do you think of the following: -as a weaponlight, i want to use the surefire millenium LED/IR http://www.surefire.com/M952V-MillenniumUniversalWeaponLight it is nice and small, long battery runtime, LED, AND my favorite, IR illumination simply by twisting the head of the light! -as i want a laser and IR laser as well (i know, mall ninja junk, still i like it), i thought of going with laser devices: http://www.falcontactical.net/ladedbdbeail1.html it's got all i want, just the IR illumination of this unit is not necessary, as the surefire already got it. what do you think of that combo? and isn't there any way to fake a agency ID? or will they also accept private foreign LE agencies?

    Benelli M4.

just think what would happen if the bayonet got stuck in the guts of the attacker! a gut-grab so to say!
  11. i don't have a M4 mark on my m4, whats the info about it?
  12. the european union indeed made some laws about the possession of tritium, but noone really cares. pathetic anyway, plenty of things can damage you more than a bloody tritium night sight. because of those laws, most german gun shops dont sell them anymore.
  13. i'll let you know. does anyone have orange or yellow rear night sights? i still haven't decided between all green sights and different color sights.
  14. lol, no, of course white housing, i meant orange tritium inserts!
  15. alright, so i just need to find a way to get my original sights to the US, because tooltech gunsights don't accept orders from europe, as usual. i already contacted trijicon directly, if there's a way to get them here. haven't answered yet though. btw trijicon got 12 years of warranty on their sights, mepro only 5. strange, isn't it? would you try orange rear and green front?
  16. how happy are you with the sights during day? are they clearly visible? coz i'm thinking about getting them machined for the Trijicon night sights, with the white housing around the tritium.
  17. the structure of the wood below the m4 seems odd, like some cutted out something.
  18. ok, so you dip coat the gun with NP3 for lubrication, than coat the exterior in Roguard? yep, my barrel color is quite different to the magazine tube as well. quite a lot of magazines you got there! can't really tell the color compared to the M4 due to the flashlight, but looks pretty much the same. how does cerakote compare to robar NP3? why don't you get the m4 dip coated in NP3, than ion bonded on the exterior, would that be too expensive? because as you said, ion bonding is the toughest finish.
  19. is black ion bonding non reflective, like the original m4? why do you need the lubrication properties on the outside of the gun? i can see why its needed in the trigger group etc, though why on the outside? would you see any advantage in ion bonding f.e. the sidearmor plus the mounts on it?
  20. wow, that looks brand new! i just wondered, coz my mum used to tell me "don't scratch the (teflon coated) pan". but that definitely proves her wrong! the gunsmith would have to remove the old finish, right? how about refinishing things like mounts/other metal-made accessories? €: you plan to use the robar NP3, have you ever tried the birdsong black-t? what would you say is the most durable (best), non reflective black finish?
  21. and that teflon finish is more resistant to wear than the OEM finish? how expensive is that?
  22. so there's nothing special about the mil spec hard anodized non reflecting blabla benelli coating?
  23. ok. btw what did you mean with that: "In respect to training, I advise you try not to run the weapon out of shells. If you're not firing, you should be topping off whenever possible."? €: just a theoretical question: would a normal gunsmith be able to renew the finish of the M4, i mean with the same coating like the factory finish? or does benelli do something very special to the M4?
  24. so do you think the cmm bolt release pad will cause less wear on the benelli?
