  1. other than that one incident it's had no problem with low brass so far (135 rounds) brand new. It will even cycle the 2" shells. Those trip up about 1 in 10, but I expected that.
  2. Hmm never heard about the break in comment before. Mine are all low brass. Do you have any links to info behind the break in theory? I'm cautious because of the 'break in' people ( low end manufacturer's) try to push on AR's to lower the useful life of the barrel, and finish cleaning it out for them. I assume that's not as big of a deal with a shotgun?
  3. Winchester universal's 1,1/8oz 2.75 shells, I believe. I also had a box of 1oz remmi's. Which i forgot about until now. I bet those were the cause. I wanted to see how they fired. In the beginning nothing phased it. So I forgot about them, and the colder it got the more shells mixed as I wasn't taking my gloves off and just dumping boxes. I bet it iced up a bit from the heat of the earlier rounds and at those temps it just wasn't enough to cycle it later. File this one under oops.
  4. So I was at the range with some friends 3 weeks ago. Temp was about 12f. Anyway the bolt was occasionally getting stuck 95% recoiled. Just a tap on the handle and it'd continue forward and grab the shell fine. Time to switch to 0w-30 for the winters? But seriously is there an oil formulated for colder temps as such?
  5. This was a reply in another thread of the history of British gun ban's. Basically where we're headed. http://www.ncc-1776.org/tle2010/tle558-20100221-07.html Once you have your weapons. Move a few times; don't forward mail. Don't buy more. At least we don't have formal lists yet. Well outside the People's Democratic Republic of New York, California, and Mass.
  6. I've got the factory night sights, I'm debating sending them off to trijicon to have their tubes installed. It's tough to see them in daylight the merpo lights don't have white rings for daylight targeting. Also go to any sears store an pick up a set of metric ignition open ended wrenches in metric. It has the 5.5, and the 4mm you can use to hold the sight while you tighten the nut, versus marring it up with pliers. It's like 17$ for the pack of 10 2mm thru 10mm with a 5.5 in there as well.
  7. If the zombies come, i figure i'll run out of ammo before anything else breaks on an m4
  8. Yay, hammer, disconnector, follower, mag and forend!!! 9 parts with the coll stock, bye bye 922r nonsense, and a better and lighter weapon double bonus
  9. Where's the video of her test firing?
  10. Yea i like the concept of the mod2, but oink oink 15.5oz, plus 8.8 for their shell carrier. Surefire needs to get off their arse and make a forend light. I do like the idea of having the 2 shell carrier along side the breech though. Yes, I was watching the art of the dynamic shotgun. However, adding 27.3oz to the beast for that. No thank you
  11. Yea i wasn't as worried about the weight so much as the issue described above with the action not operating properly
  12. So I guess back on topic, is getting the inside of the buffer tube polished worth it? Or do you think at some point someone might offer a lighter AL or Ti version?
  13. Don't see them? I looked all over the site.
  14. Agreed, having the same gun with a collapsing stock so both me (6'1") and my girlfriend (5'4") can comfortably use it. Should only be a right for the ultra rich.. I think that was reasoned by the typical educated elite who's never shot a weapon. So instead we have to buy two weapons. (oops I guess that shot that theory about reducing guns, pun intended) Not to mention that the overall length still has to be 26 inches!!! It doesn't make it more or less concealable or lethal than current federal limits outside of a registered SBS (so how is this not passing a law through additional regulation?) Further I know a few hunters that for the walk in appreciate the ability to loose 6 inches off their back. (they could probably stand to loose 6 inches off their stomach too but that's a different story ) Poking holes in the not sporting bit. This is really up there with the media industry trying to ban every new product that comes down the line because it scares them.
  15. I think in NY the response is modeled as inversely proportional to your distance to a big city.
  16. IMHO speaking as someone who works for two branches of govt: 1 - I believe the president promised to root out agencies which are wasteful in the state of the union address. Clearly the ATF is trying to replicate court's job and make/interpret laws. They should summarily be shut down as a duplicate effort. Redirect their funds to drug rehabilitation for a greater effect and close some prisons with the additional cost savings. 2 - Given long guns were .85% of all firearms fatalities in 2009. Why are they wasting time on long guns? How are there not more important issues, e.g go figure out how IDE's are still getting into Afghanistan? How is this not fraud, waste and abuse?
  17. strangerdanger: Agreed I've been at the range when some requal. I watched in horror as a target came back looking like it was hit with a shotgun, but she only had a pistol at 10m rezarf: I would buy that if officers were held accountable for screwing up and not understanding the laws they are charged with enforcing.
  18. sweet next paycheck i'll order one up
  19. Does it accept the 2 round extension?
  20. NM found it in your profile. It's irritating you can't view links before 10 posts. I can kind of understand it, but stripping signatures, argh
  21. So my next assignment is in the DPRNY (Democratic Peoples Republic of New York), I have a full length tube. However, will have to take the rubber band and scissors to it while in NY. Just wondering if someone makes a 5 round ti tube I could use for this nonsense. FFT and CC don't make one from what's on their sites.
  22. Just wondering if anyone has tried firing the centurion mini-buck 2" rounds through their M4?
