1. Does not interfere with sight alignment. I've inadvertantly hit the KZ sling adaptor on surfaces a couple of times with no damage. The fact the KZ sling adaptor sticks up can cause snagging on loose items when manipulating the weapon; just be aware - no more of an issue than dealing with an optic sticking up (e.g. Aimpoint T-1). As already pointed out, the KZ adaptor must be compatable with your stock selection or any future selections being considered.
2. I have the KZ Ambi sling adapter fitted with a Mesa Tactical Urbino tactical stock. I primarily use the MAGPUL MS2 sling in a 1-point sling arrangement. With the Surefire M90 forend, added MAGPUL's Rail Sling Attachment (RSA) allowing 2-point sling arrangement. The MAGPUL MS2 sling clip rides smoothly in the KZ Ambi adapter when shifting shooting shoulders. Be careful with sling clip types because some will hang/catch when doing a tactical shift; for example, even though the MAGPUL MS2 works great for me, MAGPUL's MS3 sling clip will bind when shifting shooting shoulders.
3. I have found that most politicians and media talking heads are ignorant of gun laws, ignorant about types of firearms, confusue terms, misrepresent the purchasing process and in some cases just make it up. They are ignorant because they don't know, and they are stupid because they don't care to know. Law-abiding citizens that have guns (hunting, open carry, conceal carry) know and understand the laws associated with their use. The overwhelming majority of law-abiding citizens have trained with their weapons for safety and accuracy. Criminals don't care about the laws and their training is little to none. And finally, I find it sad that there has to exist a lobbying group (i.e. NRA) to watch our government to insure they do not violate the 2nd Amendment. Whereas, the NRA should be spending all its time and money "educating" all age and gender groups about firearms. Those that watched the second Romney-Obama debate saw ignorance on gun laws. Your choice, but which one will be easier to educate?

GG&G recall

Removed the GG&G Benelli Enhanced Safety and put in the factory safety. No changes in operations. However, what I found was with the Mesa Urbino Tacitical Stock, it made no difference with the factory safety. That is, the way the Mesa Tactical Stock "shapes" toward the M4 receiver and therefore the safety operations with gloves is easier and safer. That is, in my opinion, you don't need an enhanced safety (fat button) with the Mesa Urbino Tactial Stock. Good news for my modus-operandi, the GG&G enhanced safety was not really needed. Tactically, I'm still good with the factory safety with the Mesa Ubina Tactical Stock. However, I CAN NOT set aside that GG&G pushed a product that had a SAFETY issue. Call me a purist or anal, but when a company sells a SAFETY item that has to be recalled; there is a "fundamental" flaw in that company. I've buried too many fellow operatives when things were flawed with "stamped with fully tested safety compliance". I'm sorry for my emotion, but this item is "fundamental", a "first principle", and "basic" item that can not be set aside as just 'the cost of innovation'. Innovation is good and desirable, but when safety is cut short that innovative idea (company) has to take full respondsibility and be fully "visable" in the problem, blame and fix. I applaud GG&G in being proactive in getting the word out about those that purchased, BUT I'm not confident that there is a full disclosure and "what really went wrong" and "what was the root cause" and how "it will never happen again". Until this is answer in full, I do not recomment GG&G.

GG&G recall

This really p*****s me off. Now I've got to find time to remove the GG&G safety and put my old factory safety back on. Last time I buy anything from GG&G.
6. Have not bought the grenade launcher, yet. Recoil management is more about how you position your body behind the shotgun. For me, I see no difference from a standard forearm grip or a VFG grip. To see some ideas about grips, stance, recoil management, etc get the Magpul Dynamics video called "The Art of the Dynamic Shotgun". The video shows use with various types of grips.
7. The use of a VFG depends on the size of your hand, accessory layout and ability to manage recoil. I wrap my hand around the front of the VFG with thumb resting on the rail parallel to the barrel; that is, I do not use a beer-can grip on the VFG. This gives me a good grip and the thumb is ready to activate the light. Also, since this is the same way I use a VFG on my AR-15, I maintain consistency. I use the MAGPUL Rail Vertical Grip (RVG): Designed for use with 1913 Picatinny railed hand guards, the RVG is a basic, light weight, cost-effective vertical fore grip. Shape is ergonomically designed for use as a traditional vertical grip. It has also been optimized for use with the "thumb break method" of shooting as taught by Magpul DynamicsSM.

GG&G recall

I've had mine installed for over a month with no problems. Got the same recall notice TODAY with little explanation other than it may not work with all trigger groups for M1, M2, M3 and M4s. Also, can't find any information on their web site including a notification of a recall?????? I find this very disturbing given we are talking about the "SAFETY" mechanism; something that I would have expected GG&G to test and test and test and test and test before releasing to the public. Here's the text of the recall:

13. AggiePhil, Note your comment. Good Comment. First, I do not put all the illustrated stuff on the M4 for any tactical event: home defense - target practice. What I was showing was what is capable with the M4. So to your weight issue: The basic M4 is 7.8lbs unloaded. With ALL my mods it is 9.2 lbs unloaded which I will not totally implement. I wanted flexibility, adaptability and innovation. After market add-ons is great!

16. Rolex John/John Rolex, I'm a new M4 owner and was in your position last summer. I decided to get the basic out-of-the-box M4 ($1630, local FFL). Took my new M4 to the range and shot a various targets (size and distance; slugs, buck, and shot), practiced home defense scenarios and even took it turkey hunting. Read every M4 article on this forum and discussed shotgun tactics with some friends. After all that, in November I made a list of what I needed for my shotgun; carefully evaluating overall weight. If you are not careful, your basic 7.8lb Benelli M4 can balloon to >11lbs - try hauling that around. My thoughts on accessories (Note: you should consider one accessary add at a time and do some shooting before moving on to the next add-on): 1. Light weight systems made of Titanium (compcarrier.com 7-rd magazine and enhanced charging handle; still waiting on delivery). 2. Surefire M80 Picatinny Forend has more than enough space for flashlights (e.g. SureFire M600C), addtional shell caddy (e.g. SideArmor's 2-rd Forward Shell Holder), forward vertical grip and if you want, room for a small aiming laser (e.g. LaserMax Unimax Rail Green 5mW). The SureFire M80 is lighter than SideArmor's Benelli Mod 2 M4 rail system. 3. 6rd side saddle vice a 8 or 10 rd - once again keep weight and bulk down (SideArmor 6-Rd Picatinny Mounted Shell Side Saddle is adequate for me). I did evaluate the 3GunGear velcro shell Side Saddle because of very low weight, but I just didn't like the look on "my" M4. 4. Enhanced Safety - fumbling in gloves and cold wet environment (GG&G Enhanced Safety: still waiting on delivery). 5. Enhance Bolt release (GG&G M4 Tactical Pad) - was tired of searching for bolt release in a rapid (combat) reload and then having the charging handle hit my hand (i.e. I combat reload over the top of the receiver). 6. Tritium Forward and Rear Ghost Sights - dealing with that dark thing in CQB or flashlight failure. 7. Ambi Sling Swivel (KZ Benelli M4 adapter) with MAGPUL MS2 single point sling - tactical movement, home defense. 8. LaRue low picatinny mount (LT661) for my Aimpoint T1 red dot - hunting and tactical. 9. Finally, the Mesa Urbino Stock with cheek riser. It just fit my shoulder better and the cheek riser allows quick eye alignment with the Aimpoint T1. "My" M4 is ready for home defense, tactical and hunting, AND at no time is all the stuff I described above on the shotgun at one time. I configure the M4 for the tactic being considered. In regard to "ease of installing" any of the above accessories - read this forum; there are many articles on lessons learned to avoid issues and frustration. As you read this forum you will get many ways to configure your M4. But, keep in mind it is "Your" M4, configured to "Your" body type, for "Your" lifestyle, and within "Your" budget. Welcome to the Benelli M4.
17. CarrierComp doesn't call the charging handle gray, it is referred to as "muted". The top handle is "muted".
18. I'll answer my own question. I decided to go and buy the two items and see how it all comes out: I installed the KZ Ambi Sling Adapter with a Mesa Urbino stock with no problems; there is no gap and the ambi adapter is a solid fit. The Magpul MS2 sling system works great allowing ease of shifting from right hand to left hand shooting and back. The Magpul MS3 sling system does not work very well with the KZ Ambi Sling Adapter; will use MS3 with my S&W MP15T carbine and dedicate MS2 sling to the Benelli M4. I have a SUREFIRE M80 picatinny rail system installed and added Magpul's Rail Sling Attachment (RSA). This way I can shift from single-pt sling setup to a 2-pt sling setup.
19. Urbino Stock: http://www.mesatactical.com/index.php?id=159 KZ Ambi Sling Adapter: http://www.botachtactical.com/kzbeamslat.html I'm a new Benelli M4 owner. Considering the Urbino stock with KZ Ambi sling adapter: - Will the KZ adapter fit on to the Urbino stock? - Will the KZ adapter interfere with Urbino check riser? Any pro/cons on KZ Ambi adapter on Benelli M4? By chance, anyone have a Benelli M4 configured with Urbino and KZ Ambi with operational use? TIA, Don
