  1. Nobody is showing hatred with you, the correct term would be frustration. You don't need to constantly defend yourself. You made a claim based off a conversation you had with a person you feel is very reputable and "in the know." What you presented from that conversation has been disproven by several other members here over the course of this thread based off their conversations with reputable persons in the trade as well as purchases members here have made. You're not in the wrong for putting it out there, but you are in the wrong for taking any of what is said about this topic to heart when in reality....none of it affects you. You could just say "yeah, I guess my guy didn't know what he was talking about" and move on, but you are sticking to the story as if you are somehow losing face by that story not proving out. It's ok to have theories, it's not ok to foster paranoia about weapons parts as though it were a secret cover-up, and I've come across variations of this with you in my short time here. You've admitted it yourself in another thread that you'll offer up a Half-assed theory to explain unusual circumstances. I think this thread, as well as this topic, has run its course.
  2. Or better yet you can just not give a rat's ass what another person determines to be "Da Best Shawtgun Ever Hurr Hurr" because basically it's all subjective. Plus why give credence to anyone who justifies their opinion by saying "because I know, that's how come." It's all hot air. What's the old saying about opinion's and buttholes?
  3. You start at least two a day, go for it.
  4. As with anything it's about how you plan to use the gun. I wouldn't use a hunting shotgun for home defense or in a survival situation...even though you could in a pinch. I wouldn't use a home defense shotgun to hunt with either, even though I could do that as well (minus ammo capacity restrictions). The reality is that there is no single swiss-army-knife Benelli. Each is designed to fill a niche. Saying one is better than the others without qualifying that position misses the point entirely. None is better than the other, it's how you plan to use it.
  5. Didn't you already call Benelli customer service and didn't they already give you a proposed timetable for delivery? I ordered mine the first week of February, and Benelli CS wrote me back to tell me I should expect my gun June or July of this year. That's the timetable they are working with; initial production sold out, second production started as back-orders were placed and are fulfilled based on the date of the initial order.
  6. I appreciate your response and I understand what you were doing, but the conversation between the two of them was over and did not need to resurface. I apologize for attempting to moderate your actions, but like most of us I come here to read about Guns...not for drama between members.
  7. Are you just generally in a habit of disrespecting others on this forum and answering questions which WERE NOT directed at you? Fight your own battles tough guy, the convo between TKTM and KB Fab doesn't require your interjection.
  8. The break in isn't to test the weapons ability to handle lighter loads, it's to work the internals....the springs. Where did either of you get that he wanted to use cheap shot to break in his weapon? He was asking for types of ammunition for the break in process and for post break-in. I've bought 150 rounds of Federal's 2 3/4" mag shock 5 shot and another 50 3" magnum rounds. I for one was not aware that magnum came in 2 3/4" so that was nice to find so when I go full capacity on the magazine it's with the powerful round I was looking for.
  9. That's my thought too. Benelli Italy does the anodizing and factors it in to tolerances, the NP3 may be a bit thicker but designed to wear without generating friction....so like you I believe any stuck or sticking parts will be properly worn down in the 100-150 high brass break-in. It's still too lucrative to sell these than own and test them, but if I get my hands on the one I ordered fast enough my break-in will be up on youtube fast as lightning. This is too cool a gun to not give a firsthand review of.
  10. The gain, from this buyer's perspective, is the worry free maintenance. It's already a clean running shotgun by shotgun standards, now with this coat it's uber clean and requires no additional help to maintain. When I bought it I wanted the reliability of the M4 platform but I didn't want a S90 with neutered stock and magazine...so this product was a real winner in my book. And I know the silver coat is off-putting to some, but I like how it looks in this configuration. It's the knowledge that with this coat and the clean operation of the weapon I can fire and forget. The only thing I have to worry about are individual parts wearing out or breaking....I don't even have to be concerned about moisture, which the black anodizing protects against too but not to the same degree. If the world ends tomorrow, this gun is going to see me through a loooonnnggg life of worry-free use.
  11. Why are you so wishy-washy about the gun you purchased? You can't have buyers remorse before even owning the gun. The guys who have complained about finish issues have yet to give field performance tests, so I give them zero credibility and turn a blind-eye to their comments. One of those two naysayers even went so far as to buy a second H2O despite his reservations on the first one. You did your homework and bought the weapon that met what you wanted out of a shotgun, don't let anyone here dissuade you from getting what you want...none of their expertise matters. I've noticed alot of sour grapes and jaw jacking about this gun, no actual proof of a problem. It's a combat configuration M4 with a shiny coat and an awesome resale value....digg it and stand firm next to your purchase.
  12. Your trigger guard is supposed to be black, the H2O trigger guard (along with all other metal parts) is grey from the NP3 coating.
  13. So why's the trigger assembly housing black? Are you swapping parts between weapons?
  14. Why is your trigger guard black 12508? Is that lighting or have you been tinkering? This is what that sucker should look like:
  15. So your whole point is 922r doesn't address possession of a banned firearm? Lol...call a spade a spade man...the word banned means you can't have it. Even if you want it really really badly. Sure you can possess a banned item all day long. **** there's even a term for it, illegal possession. Thank you for the pics btw, but the rep talked about in other threads here indicated nothing in the trigger assembly was replaced with US parts.
  16. The M4 in combat configuration with all Italian made parts is a BANNED shotgun for non-government sale. I get your reasoning, but you are plain wrong. Do you understand confiscation rules for banned goods? Go to a range with a banned weapon, have any federal law enforcement official catch you with said weapon, and say bye bye to your gun. Same thing goes for Cuban cigars, endangered animal pelts etc.. Benelli has altered this shotguns internals to comply with US law in order to sell it to consumers in this configuration. As stated before, WHAT has been modified in the weapon is the question. Your interpretation of 922r is incorrect.
  17. That's a solid question. You'd think with as cool a shotgun as this is appearance-wise that there'd be more videos coming out....but the owners are silent about it. It's a sellers market for sure at this point. The first person to do an actual field test review is going to get major kudos on this one. Let me cross my fingers on that one..mine has been on the orders list since the beginning of February.
  18. Check out my post above man, I don't know why the mods had to approve it first but that should help you out. It's got a video by Benelli to help you out.
  19. The law talks about assembling a banned import model as a non-governmental body, as a civilian. You really think this is how it works? You just go out and buy a gun that is illegal to import and nobody bats an eye? You can't own a banned item. Please don't cloud the waters with your misinterpretation. They (Benelli) cannot import a banned firearm for sale to civilians, and they cannot on the same coin assemble an unbanned configuration into a banned configuration for sale to civilians. This is why I made my original post...people are confusing the situation without going into a little place I like to call Realityville. No gun manufacturer is going to risk their federal distribution license by selling an illegal weapon. You can't own a banned gun, you can't assemble parts into a banned gun and you can't be sold a banned gun by a manufacturer authorized to assemble said gun if you are not a government agency. That's what 922r says, not your rose colored glass version.
  20. I don't think this is what is happening. Benelli USA just importing the parts and assembling them and then slapping a new finish on them and selling them to the consumer. I really doubt this, and I could be wrong since we are all guessing, but here's 922 paragraph R: "It shall be unlawful for any person to assemble from imported parts any semiautomatic rifle or any shotgun which is identical to any rifle or shotgun prohibited from importation under section 925(d)(3) of this chapter as not being particularly suitable for or readily adaptable to sporting purposes except that this subsection shall not apply to-- (1) the assembly of any such rifle or shotgun for sale or distribution by a licensed manufacturer to the United States or any department or agency thereof or to any State or any department, agency, or political subdivision thereof; or (2) the assembly of any such rifle or shotgun for the purposes of testing or experimentation authorized by the Attorney General." The portions of sub-paragraph 1 mention what you are describing, but they speak to the sale of weapons by licensed manufacturers to the United States, State Departments or Agencies or Political Subdivisons. It doesn't talk about sale to non-governmental bodies such as individual consumers. You're talking about a loophole which I do not think exists. But you've got 2 of them, why not check the internals for the US stamps?
  21. If Joe Schmo goes in and replaces BATF identified parts on a semi-auto shotgun with US parts until the magic number is reached, and then adds the C-Stock and mag tube then the weapon is fully compliant. Benelli did this for all of us and threw in an NP3 finish. This weapon is 922r compliant because the factory here in the States made it 922r compliant by doing what any regular Joe in the States could do, but they did so at a total cost savings to you the consumer.
  22. Silly question but why a C-Stock on a supernova? I thought the comfort-tech was one of the main selling advantages for that hunting shotgun? There's only one place I've seen on Benelli's site where replacement of the standard stock with a c-stock is discussed, and that's on the M4 portion of the page. Click this link: http://www.benelliusa.com/shotguns/benelli-m4.php Towards the middle of the page you will see "M4 Resources" and under that a series of clickable links. You want the first one "Manuals - Video and Print." Click that and the page will show the downloadable M4 manual and a scroll bar that pulls down to show three videos, the one you want is the last one called "M4 Video Manual Suppliment." You can download or watch the vid online. The part that deals with replacing the standard stock with a c-stock is 3/4 of the way through the video. Hope that helps.
  23. What he's telling you by his reply phm14 is that he's flipping the gun for profit using an FFL intermediary, and that you coming in here and warning him that it is illegal to make a profit from an item he legally owns is pretty darn idiotic on your part.
  24. The more I hear about 922r compatibility issues concerning the H2O, the more I wonder about the motivation of the people insinuating that there is a problem. The general assumption seems to be that in its current configuration, without knowing the specs, that the weapon is not 922r compliant. For that to be true it would indicate that the US manufacturer was wilfully disregarding US Law and entrapping consumers who go to pick up their new shotgun at their respective FFL.... only to discover Federal Agents ready to put them in jail. And yet, that isn't happening. The manufacturer would also lose it's federal distribution license for not only these shotguns, but the hundreds of other firearms that make up the actual bulk of their product line. That's not happening either so we're 0 for 2. Or maybe the BATF just decided to turn a blind-eye to this specific group of 1000+ weapons....right? Some guy spilled his coffee on the report and they just forgot about it. Nope, 0 for 3. The reality is the firearm has been altered to meet the requirements under the law, the question remains what has been replaced. There is no smoke and mirror show here guys, it's a legal gun that meets 922r specifications. If you can't afford it quit trying to drum up reasons why others should not be able to own it.
