Which presents no problem whatsoever for them. They wrote the rulings and they can change them at will. The Director of the ATF&E has only to issue his legal opinion on a particular ruling to change it as the Director's opinions carry the force of law. Amending a ruling is as simple as picking up a pen. The only remedy for such action is for Congress to enact legislation specifically barring the ruling change or to successfully challenge the Director's opinion in Federal court. Welcome to the world of Federal bureaucracy.

I've found that miniature "hobby" needle nose pliers are actually easier to use for this task than the snap ring pliers.

Is it possible that the clamp has been tightened too tightly? I would apply Loctite to the screw threads and then tighten the clamp to the point that the tube is NOT being moved. If the clamp causes this deflection regardless, I'd check to be certain they sent you the correct clamp. It's possible they didn't.

I understand that it's spam, what I don't understand is why in h*ll a moderator hasn't deleted them yet?! Are they all on vacation?

You should buy a case of those scrapers, paint them matte black, call them a Benelli M4 tactical tool, and sell them for $40 apiece!

Thanks for the welcome, Frank! The M2 is a fine shotgun! The one thing I particularly like about the M2 is how light and handy it is compared to the M4 which is necessarily heavier due to the gas system. They're also easier to clean. It only takes me one beer to clean a recoil-operated shotgun; two for gas-operated models.

1. Yes, it is perfectly normal for the pistons to move back and forth freely. In fact, if they don't, you have a problem! 2. If there IS a trick to this, I haven't discovered it yet. 3. The trick to getting the magazine spring back into its tube is to not take it out in the first place! Seriously, unless I have a specific reason to clean the magazine tube spring, follower, and tube interior, I don't disassemble it. I certainly don't clean the interior of the mag tube as part of my routine field stripping/cleaning regimen.

Thanks, amigo! Yeah, I got out as quickly as I could! I first moved to what had been my vacation place in Hardy County, West Virginia where I owned and ran a one-man gun shop for six years. Then I met my wife, Judy, who was born and raised in NEPA, so here I am!

Here is the first photo of my Benelli M4 Tactical which is my first Benelli firearm. I plan on shooting this shotgun a lot as I instruct various shotgun courses and attend others as a student. I've been running drills with it the last few days and I'm very happy with its performance so far. With only around 150 shells through it to date, it's currently only 100% reliable with full-power loads, but I expect this will change as it wears in with more use. As you can see from the photo, I've swapped out the pistol grip stock for a standard one from the Benelli Store. In addition to the stock change, I've added the following: Burris FastFire III with 8MOA dot Freedom Fighter Tactical 2-round magazine extension tube, magazine follower, hammer, and charging handle Mesa Tactical 6-shell shotshell carrier with integral Picatinny rail SureFire M80 Picatinny rail forend with M4 rail covers Trulock Precision Hunter ported cylinder choke After I find a good single point sling (I'm leaning towards an Urban-Sentry), I think I'll have my M4 setup exactly like I want it.
