If it's anything like the Mesa Tactical one, there is a gap between the carrier and receiver. They don't actually touch so there is no finish damage to be concerned about. Here's my M4 with the Mesa Tactical carrier and integral rail. As you can see, it looks like the carrier is against the receiver, but it isn't actually.

No personal experience, but all accounts I've read have been very positive.

It's the Mesa Tactical SureShell 6-shell carrier with integral Picatinny rail. Like every other Mesa Tactical shell carrier I have, it fits perfectly and works great. I like the SureFire forearm a lot. When mounted, it is rock solid and feels good in my hand, especially with the SureFire rubber rail covers. Just be aware that, since it is machined from aircraft aluminum, it is necessarily heavier than the thin plastic halves that make up the factory forearm. If you don't mind a bit of added weight to the forearm area of your gun, I think you'd be happy with it. Like all SureFire stuff, the quality is first rate.

That looks like a nice, little optic, truckcop, but I've read complaints from multiple users that the dual illumination model is not always bright enough in sunlight. What has been your experience? Have you ever had trouble picking up the recticle on a bright, sunny day? Thanks!

Good info, Hookster. I heard the Benelli rail was a little out of spec, but it's not a worry for me because my factory rail was already replaced when I installed the Mesa Tactical shell holder which includes an integral mil-spec rail.

I have my Remington 870 & Benelli M4 tactical shotguns equipped with Burris FastFire III red dot sights. They're incredibly small and lightweight and they're still working perfectly after withstanding the recoil of, in the case of the FastFire mounted on my M4, over a thousand shotgun shells. The one on my 870 has several hundred firings under its belt so far. I'm so impressed with their performance that I just bought a third one for my other Remington. Here's a pic of my M4 with its FastFire III. P.S.- I think the next red dot I buy is going to be what Don above has. Not that I have any complaints with the FastFires, but you can't beat the battery life of the Aimpoint optics.

It wasn't the NRA that wrote, voted for, and passed the Clinton assault weapon ban. There was a democrat in the WH, and a democratic majority in both houses. The vote was a foregone conclusion. People get what they ask for when they elect the politicians they do. Put the blame where it belongs.

Want a solid example of how ineffective so-called "assault weapon" bans are? Connecticut has had an assault weapon ban in force since 1993! There's irony for you if, in fact, it is proved that a Bushmaster AR was actually used in the killings.

You can LOL all you want, but here is the REALITY you are unwilling or unable to accept. As of 2009, there were 307,000,000 Americans and, as of 2010, there were between 47,000,000 and 53,000,000 gun owners. For any mathematics-impaired individuals out there, gun owners are a small minority that is getting smaller with each passing decade. Another reality is that when you are in the minority, compromise is essential to survival. If anyone is delusional, it is the gun owner that thinks they can stomp their feet and scream "no compromise" at each and every turn when they are outnumbered 6 to 1. The only thing between us and ruin are those non-gun owning citizens that we haven't yet alienated. The day the majority of them turn against us is the day the 2nd Amendment is doomed because then it is just a matter of time before it is repealed as outdated and dangerous. Then we and our Republic are doomed, as well.

You probably pissed away your vote on a third party candidate too, right? I hope your "principles" are feeling chipper now that Obama has another four years to do his dirty work. Whatever you think of the NRA, THEY are the ones that provided the lion's share of the funding for all the major court decisions we as gun owners have won before the SCOTUS and countless state courts around the country. That is a fact. Principles are great, but some day you have to face reality and the reality is that gun owners are an ever shrinking minority in this country. With your "no compromise" mentality, gun ownership will one day go the way of the dinosaur in America. There are already serious discussions going on about repealing the 2nd Amendment. I'm old and it's doubtful I'll live to see it, but I fear for future generations.

I don't own one of your Urbino stocks, so this issue doesn't affect me directly, but I have to say BRAVO! You can't beat an offer like the one above, folks. P.S.- I do have Mesa Tactical shell carriers on all three of my tactical shotguns (Ben. M4, Moss. 930 SPX, Rem. 870). As far as I'm concerned, they are "best in class."

I've owned my M4 for three weeks now. My experience has been that after firing approximately 250 shells of various types, it began cycling everything I fed it including low recoil buckshot and slug loads. I don't run the gun "wet," but do use a liberal amount of Tetra grease on the bolt and bolt rails. I now have about 300 rounds through it and it's beginning to cycle light target loads like the Winchester Universal shells sold at Walmart, but not yet 100% of the time. However, I believe it will soon be reliably cycling them as well.

If I were to buy this set, I wouldn't use the rear tritium dots at all.

I like Federal Tactical Hydra-Shok, Federal TruBall, and Remington Slugger slugs when it comes to Foster-type slugs.
