Does Benelli sell a Release trigger assembly for Supersport
hollywood7 posted a topic in BenelliI have a Benelli Supersport I’ve been shooting trap over the last 4 years. Love the gun and I’m shooting pretty good with it. However as I get more familiar with it, I’ve swapped out shims to get it fitting me (the pattern board) is perfect and now I’m down to consistent 23’s and 24’s & somewhat frequently shooting perfect rounds. What I’ve learned that is the last thing I want to address is trigger pull. I had the trigger pull measured and it’s about a 5lbs, 6ounce pull. I wanna see if Benelli offers either a release trigger, or a trigger that the pull can be reduced to 3lbs, 5ounces? Since the triggers are sold as a complete unit, I’m not finding any aftermarket, or gun smithing services, that can change the current factory trigger to a release trigger, or reduce the trigger pull pounds to be easier. I just feel that the current trigger is heavy & the pull ends up moving the gun. I wanna smooth it out & Ocasionally i find the pull the trigger ends up like a “yank” especially on hard right or left handlers & I end up shooting off to the sides. If anyone’s knows either factory solutions or gunsmiths that are successful at modifying the trigger for a smoother pull.
Nova trigger assembly possibly broken?I bought a Nova about a year ago for shooting clays, and I've put a couple hundred rounds through it without any problems. But, a couple of weeks ago, the trigger assembly accidentally slipped out of my hand while I was cleaning, and I broke off a small plastic bit that sticks up on the front left of it (see picture, circled in red). From what I can tell, this piece of the assembly doesn't actually do anything. It doesn't appear that anything rests on it, slides across it, bumps against it, or has any kind of physical contact. It appears to simply be there for good looks. Can anyone confirm this? That being said, in the past two weeks, I've had some Winchester Super-Target shells (12ga, 2 3/4") jam halfway into the barrel while feeding from both the magazine, and after simply dropping one in during trap shooting. I'd only shot a couple of boxes of these shells before, so I would normally just think that the cheap shells are to blame, but I can't shake this nagging feeling that somehow, that small plastic part is to blame. After extracting the jammed shells, I can see a groove on the front where it caught on something on the way into the barrel and got stuck. So, I'm hoping someone can alleviate my fears, as I'd rather not spend $90 on a new trigger assembly if I don't have to. Have any of you had problems with that brand/make of shells? Does anyone know if that little plastic bit is just there for aesthetics, or does it actually serve some purpose with the shell elevator that's causing my troubles? Thanks in advance!
Trouble getting trigger back in on SSI took the tigger out for the first time on my SS to clean it up. Now it doesnt want to go back in. The trigger hits the shim between the stock and the reciever. Its soo close but i really dont want to force anything. Any help/tips are greatly appreciated. Thank You
SBE II questions/workIve now had mine for about 4 years (my favorite gun I own) and finally have decided to finally convert my safety to the proper side for me. I am a lefty, but when I was younger my parents purchased this for me and I have had a righty model the whole time. I know they make a left handed model, but Ive actually become very use to the bolt release and ejection on the right side. Ive looked and noticed that you can purchase a left handed trigger assembly online and looks like it would drop in perfectly fine. Anyone tried this? Any fit issues? Or is it possible to flip the safety selector? EDIT: Answered my own question. If only I would have taken a closer look at this a long time ago. Simple roll pin. Remove the spring and flip the selector and re-install the pin. If anyone was curious. Still wondering about the second part of my post. Next, I've decided to go further with working on my gun. I've considered porting my barrel, and maybe a trigger job from Brileys. Is it worth it? Also thinking about messing with my shim kit. Any other recommendations for modifications that have served you well? Already have some briley chokes, the larger briley bolt release, and new bolt handle on the way.
