jonny4523
Just picked up an M2 today. Took it to the range and can only fit 2 in the mag. Took it apart and there is a Benelli plug in the back. Is this removable? If so, does the spring just rest against the retaining cap? Or is there something that I'm supposed to replace it with? timb99
The plug is there because any time you hunt waterfowl or other migratory birds, Federal law dictates you must have your magazine plugged so the gun cannot accept more than 3 shells. Not sure exactly how to remove the plug from a Benelli, but as far as I know, all guns with a tube magazine have a way to remove the plug. Also, MAKE SURE your range allows you to load more than one shell at a time. Most don't.
cody6.0
On the M2 the easiest way is to unscrew the magazine extension tube then pull the plug out.
shotgunNoob
I cant speak about your gun, but with my SuperNova tactical, I had a "plug" as well. It resided within the spring and was resting up against the spring cap (not the same as mag cap). Anyway, I just removed it and gained and extra 2 rounds. For your gun, I would refer to the owners manual, if you have one. If not, go to the Benelli website and check out the PSD version for your shotgun. The plug is very easy to remove. Or maybe that rule is only in the great state of Illinois Novaking
timb99
Novaking, Good point. There are a number of states that require a plug when hunting upland game.
shotgunNoob
Of course, this guy didnt seem worried about WHY the plug was there, but rather HOW to remove it. If this is primarily a home defense shotgun, take that d*mn plug out!!!
