Not sure why its classified as a low recoil barrel. Maybe another member can chime in. Never seen a long type barrel before but would be intersted as well. The 18.5 inch barrel, I dunno why some say low recoil and some don't, I'm 99.9% sure it's the same exact thing ... and the 14 inch barrel, which you will find among unicorns and pots at the end of the rainbow. The profile of the 18.5 inch barrel has changed over the years along with the number of gas ports ... but basically the m4 is an 18.5 inch gun only unless you do a custom job or somehow find a 14 inch factory barrel. There is no slug barrel made for the m4 at this time. Quote

harleywood Posted January 4, 2009 Author Posted January 4, 2009 I was hoping a 24 or 26 inch barrel option would be available like it is for the M2. I like the M4 setup and wanted it for home protection, but it would be nice to have a longer barrel option to use as a hunting gun also. Quote
